Looking at the checkpoint ahead, I could feel my toes getting a bit jumpy.
It's not that I'm scared or anything, but the chance that we'll get exposed because of this gamble makes me fear for Fauna, Geral and his family's lives.
I can only hope that Vikaar's authority as an Obsidian makes a big role in this.
"Everyone, stay quiet as much as possible."
"I'll tell them, my lord."
As the tiny window behind me closes, I sat right up properly while Vikaar just looks at the checkpoint with blank stare.
When our truck finally rolled next to the soldiers on the checkpoint, I prepare my a small ice dagger just underneath the seat and away from everyone's eyes.
"Perm-"
Just when the soldier looks up to Vikaar up the driver's seat, he falls quiet as she turns her head towards him.
"Good evening, soldier."
I'm going to go back to longer formats since it's a bit tilting for me to squeeze parts. I hope you guys don't mind.
