Chapter 218: The Whispers

"Captain, wake up!"

"H-Huh?"

Slowly opening her eyes, Vikaar finds herself looking at the grey snowy sky while her head laid on Briana's lap.

"How many fingers can you see?"

While getting asked, she looks at the hand with an annoyed look on her face.

"Two."

Just as she tries to sit up, Briana stops her and makes her lay on her lap again.

"What?"

"Haven't you realized it yet? You hit your head hard. Or was the concussion so strong it numbed your head."

When pointed out, Vikaar reaches and touches her forehead and felt a stinging pain.

"Ow! What happened?"

"I don't know, I just found you lying there with your face planted on a radiator exhaust."

"That's weird, I could've sworn I was in a sewer just now."

"Maybe in your dreams. You were here out cold."

Though it seemed to be the case, for some reason, Vikaar didn't feel like it was. If anything, she felt that something is incredibly off.
