I was dreaming, and I knew it.

I don't remember falling asleep, but I knew I was because this wasn't my life anymore. It was Vali's. Yet, I felt like I was her, and I didn't feel like an intruder like I had before. It was like I was remembering the events unfolding, and it was so warm and inviting I never wanted to wake up from it.

"You're awake," I look up to see Van standing at the chamber door. He's bare-chested, and his hair is still loose. The moonlight shines on his tattoos and scars, making them seem like they're glowing.

"I missed my mate," He smirked, quietly shutting the door and approaching us. "I see my queen has been kidnapped by my second-born son."
