"Nefera, please don't do this!" Taylor cried out, chasing after my mate as she climbed down the stairs. I swallowed, already knowing what was coming, and even though I knew it was for show, I was ready to be sick.

"Luna, you can't!" Danny grabbed Nefera's arm, but she shook him off. 

Nefera looked pale. Like she was ready to cry, and from her emotions, I knew that she wasn't acting. She didn't want to do this, but she'd been right. We were at a point where we had to play in the deep end, and I didn't know what else to do. If we did nothing, they'd come for us now, but this plan gave us the time to figure something out. I just hated that it came at our cost. However, that's not how my brothers saw it.

'It just means we get to marry her again,' Garmr shrugged, pleased with the prospect. 'Besides, it's only the human marriage we're dissolving, not the supernatural one, which only the elves know about.'
