Chapter 36: Heat wave

"This is humiliating." The sound of another wolf yelping in pain reaches us, and I bury my face in my arms.

"Oooh, that was Scott." Taylor winces. "Idiot tried to run by Ivan."

Gods, I wish she wasn't looking out the window. The last thing I wanted was a play-by-play. I couldn't believe this. I was in heat! Like a dog! How? I'm human, for crying out loud. That doesn't happen to us.

We get horny. We have periods, but not like this! The worst part about the whole thing? Ivan couldn't get away from me fast enough. He threw his jersey on me, pulled my pants back on, and left me in the room, yelling at everyone to get up and wait for him outside. The sound of a fight reached me, and when he returned, he had a split on his lip.

Then, he took me downstairs. Where Danny, Steven, and Taylor were waiting for me, and then he stormed out of the front door without looking back at me. Talk about an ego-killer.
