"Do you have any proof about the possible traitor, Daimon?" - A general asked as he looked at the man who had been causing tension among the senior leaders.
"Pitifully, no" - Daimon replied as he shook his head.
"Are you a moron, by any chance!" - Cattleya exclaimed in mock fury as she glared at her companion - "I know our race makes it impossible for us to get along because our interests come between us, but that doesn't mean you have to drive a wedge between us with the mention of a spy who may or may not be among us, not when our lives depend on the actions of others within this room!"
The generals frowned at the demon woman's words, though they had to admit that these were true, even Daimon, who was the one who had mentioned the possibility of the spy being among them, had to admit that this woman's words were true.
"Daimon, your words cannot be taken back, so I would like you to tell us why you think the spy is among us, and according to you, who the rat is" - said a general as he looked around silently.
The other generals could feel their bodies tense up at these words as they looked around apprehensively.
"It's because I sent some spies to check the movements of the humans from a safe distance, and they saw how some of them moved into the capital" - Daimon replied as he closed his eyes.
"This is ridiculous!" - exclaimed a general as he pounded the table with his fist - "Did you by any chance not think that those filthy maggots went to breed like the rats they are!"
"It's possible, after all, humans are a race that reproduce most of the time, more so when they are tense" - nodded the female general - "What do you think, Cattleya?"
"I think the same, it's disturbing how those scumbags seem to waste no time when it comes to reproduction" - replied Cattleya with disgust - "I guess it's a way to keep the race alive with how self-destructive humans are."
"It's a possibility" - nodded another general, only to look at Daimon with a frown - "As you can see, Daimon, the vast majority of us think the same thing."
Daimon frowned when he heard this as he remained silent.
"Since we made that clear, I want you to give us more reason to think that the spy is among us" - said the first general as he looked at Daimon with disdain - "Although I feel that we already found him."
The generals looked at Daimon with a frown although they had to admit that this hypothesis didn't seem so far-fetched, that is, Daimon had tried to create tension between them when they were about to fight the humans, and now he was reinforcing his words with actions that were normal among humans.
"Are you saying that I'm the traitor!" - Daimon exclaimed angrily.
"I only mentioned that we may have found him, I never said your name as to make you so quick to become defensive" - replied the first general with disdain.
"Daimon, keep quiet, your actions are only making us distrust you more" - said the second general while shaking his head. Of all the generals inside the command tent, he was the one who had the best relationship with Daimon, so he was sure that he wasn't a traitor, although he couldn't say it out loud because it might earn him hostility from the others, after all, Daimon had been acting weird during the whole meeting.
Daimon snorted in disdain before sitting back and grunting in irritation.
Cattleya again smiled internally while maintaining a cool expression, as if she was still angry at her partner's words.
"Well, now that we are clear that there is no traitor among us, I guess it's time for us to prepare for battle, and we'd better not do anything stupid during the operation, such as not helping a comrade" - said Cattleya as she looked around calmly - "After all, it's possible that the smallest of changes could cause our operation to fail, and I don't want that responsibility to fall on my shoulders"
"Sounds good" - nodded the generals as Daimon frowned because he didn't like this situation. From his words, it was obvious that he had been isolated, and now the one who seemed to be in the most control of the situation, was none other than the new girl, although it wasn't as if he could blame Cattleya for all of this, since he had been the one responsible for talking too much, even he was a bit relieved that his companions didn't go directly to the high priest to tell him about his blasphemous words.
"Ok, meeting over" - said a general as they all stood up and walked out, leaving only Daimon and the third general.
"Seriously, what happened to you?" - The third general asked as he looked at his friend.
"Honestly, I'm not sure" - Daimon replied as he frowned - "Maybe I didn't think things through, but I couldn't just stand by and do nothing, not when this dark feeling is getting worse and worse."
"Is it that bad?" - The general asked as he raised an eyebrow.
"I'll be honest, I feel like our lives are about to end if we go through with this operation without preparing sufficiently" - Daimon replied with a frown - "Which is ridiculous because there should be no way for this strategy to go wrong, unless one of the generals has revealed our intentions to our enemies."
"That's the problem, Daimon, all the generals have been in their quarters, and by orders of his excellency, the high priest, I was sending my subordinates to watch that they didn't do anything unusual" - replied the third general while giving his friend a neutral look.
"His Excellency asked you?" - Daimon repeated with surprise.
"Yes, let's say I have a special connection with his excellency, that's why he gave me this job" - replied the third general while shaking his head - "I know you well enough to know that you are not a traitor, but the others are not going to think the same."
Daimon was silent before getting up and walking to his quarters, after all, he still had a lot of things to do, such as organizing part of his traps to pass on to Cattleya, who honestly was the worst person in the group from his point of view. No matter how hard he tried, Daimon still couldn't trust this woman, as if something inside her disgusted him, that's why he thought she was the spy and had tried to find hard proof, though without favorable results.
"Daimon?" - Said the third general.
"Sorry, I have some things to do, we'll continue talking later" - said Daimon as he shook his head.
The third general was silent before nodding and walking to the high priest, after all, he was sure that at least one of the generals would go to explain the situation to him after they finished their preparations, that's why it was better that he went first, so at least he would get much more merits than his companions.

"The meeting went as I thought it would and my plan has been executed magnificently" - Cattleya thought with a huge smile, after all, she had felt the change in her colleagues' expressions after the meeting. Before, they treated her as someone inferior because she was the new one, now she part of the group, which facilitated many moves - "Now it only remains to wait for those idiots to send their troops so I can fulfill the most important part of my plan, I just hope Cloud doesn't disappoint me..."
Her smile grew slightly when she thought about how she would finally succeed in fulfilling the second step of her master plan to become the new demon lord, a position that had not been filled in centuries since the death of Rasul Alva Igdol, the former demon lord and brother of the traitor Vandre Schnee.
"Miss Cattleya, the general of the first division has come to see you" - said the demon woman's subordinate.
"Perfect, send him in" - smiled Cattleya as her eyes sparkled slightly.
A few seconds later, the general entered and walked in front of Cattleya with a calm expression.
"You got here faster than I thought" - said Cattleya as she offered him some tea.
"Yes, it's because I had already started with the preparations to be able to hand over my share of the troops to you" - replied the general of the first division with a relaxed expression - "You just have to accompany me so I can explain the situation to them."
"That I will do tomorrow, when all the troops are assembled" - replied Cattleya while shaking her head.
"I think you'd better do it right away, so our troops will be able to adapt so tomorrow we won't have any problems" - replied the general of the first division while frowning.
"Why are you pushing me so hard to see your troops?" - Cattleya asked while frowning - "That's strange..."
The general's expression changed when he heard this because he could understand what the woman was trying to say, so he quickly apologized and accepted that it was tomorrow, after all, he didn't want to be considered a traitor when they were about to attack.
