The woman who was short-height as she was short of temper, frowned her face whilst looking at her daughter. "I did not think I raised a fool. Hurry now! Get up and get out there. You must go and find the man."

"At this time of the night?" Jacob asked. "Well, she will do no such thing. It is lame to even think like that. I support her decision to not return. And I don't mean it in a way that suggests the child should die. It just isn't her responsibility to convince a sick child to take her medicine. She has her family with her. They should do that. Not Louisa. She will not go back to that house."
