Chapter 141: Instinct.

Back at the Estate, Samantha was having a hard time falling asleep. Try as she did, she could not keep her lids shut for long enough that would let her slip into the act of dreaming. It was thirty minutes past the hour of one o' clock.

She was about to go crazy from just sitting there, and thinking. So, she climbed out of bed before reaching for a shawl which she wrapped around her shoulders.

In a swift instant, she was safely out of her room. In another minute, she was ascending the stairs to be with Isabelle. She had decided to see her sister for two reasons. The first was because she needed someone to talk to. The second reason was because she had not —in the light of what went down at dinner — reached out to her to see her state and that of the fetus.
