10 years later….
wakey wakey, it's time for work. get up! …. GET UP!!!.... well this isn't working hmm? I have an idea! (The sound of a bucket full of water)
Here we go!!! (He's dumping water on Rex) "Ahhh!!! What the!?! WHAT THE!!! I'M GOING TO KILL YOU STEVE!!!" "crap" ( 10 minutes of scooby doo chasing later)
"oh...my.....god....I forgot...how fast....you are" said Steve, while breathing heavily.
"You're fast... too Steve....." Rex says
"What were you dreaming about?"Steve asked
"What do you…. mean?"
"You were twisting and turning all night, babbling all sorts of nonsense, and it was freaking me out!?!"
"Oh! that.... you know I don't really know what that was about, but.... I feel like I want to find out".
"Ya ya, mister mystery we'll speak more over breakfast."
Breakfast wasn't much, just meat and eggs. I didn't question where Steve got the eggs. "So crunch what's our next mission" me and Steve are wanderers, travelers tacking missions and quests wherever they went.
"I don't know, let me check" I said. While taking a look in his bag for the quest book. "Where could it be?"
"Are you sure it's not at the bottom?"
"I dont think it's in here, go check the horses bags".
"Do I have to?" Steve says with annoyance in his voice.
"Yes you do".
"Ok ok I'll go check" he says while getting up.
"Where could it be? It has to be somewhere. It couldn't just disappear to nowhere…..right?!"
"Well I'll check the bag one more time before I do anything else " Oh there it is. Steve, I found it?" I was holding the notebook yes, but something fell off?
I looked back at the bag to see all its contents spread along the ground except one thing. A small dark blue box with a small lock on it. It looked expensive and I couldn't remember where I got it. But I felt some connection to it. I frantically looked through the notebook to see if there was some sort of delivery time, but nothing mentioned it, it wasn't in the book.
"What you got there?" Startled, I turned around and tried to punch Steve in the gut. But he caught it
"really?"
"Sorry you startled me".
"So really what is it?" says Steve as he throws my arm aside". I don't know but I felt drawn to it".
"Strange I don't feel anything but the urge to sell it" he said with a smirk on his face.
"Really? You don't even want to find out what's inside?"
"Nope" Steve said that well picking a book off the ground well Rex was in aww that Steve wasn't even the least bit interested in the small box.
"Ok. I guess I'll check the notebook". I said that with a bit of confusion in his voice. "Are next thing we're doing today is…..to go to a gold and silver mine in Tailong also known as the town of the sun dragon because the mine has struck an old tomb and their making an effort to get rid of the ghouls inside of the tome"
" GHOULS!!!" Steve said that as loud as when dynamite goes off and your ears are ringing and you can't hear how loud you are.
"Why are you so excited?"
"Because I love fighting ghouls; they're always in different sizes and the big ones are usually slow and the normal ones are always a decent fight".
"Okay I get it, and the small ones are always hoarding the goodies. You always make a long drawn out excuse to go fight something" .
"Jeez you don't have to make fun of me for it, I just like a good fight that's all". Steve said well , handing me the stuff he picked up off the ground. " Okay, thanks. Can you put the fire out and pack up the sleeping bags and hook them to the horses?"
"Yeah I got it what's left?"
"Okay, first let me mark our path on the map."
"Got it," Steve said while picking up the bucket from earlier and started walking tiredly to the steam tord the left. I grabbed the map, My quilt, and started marking the path while looking at the box and wondered what we were going to do with it.
