Chapter 192: CASSIAN

Cassian's POV

I watch Chris leave the room and turn myself to the speaker to turn off the angry music and switch it to some soothing music so I can warm up. As I gather my energy and present myself in the middle of the room, I can't help but think about what I walked in on. Chris looked angry and hurt as he attacked the punching bag with all he had.

I've noticed lately that he's been more distracted and distant, though I try not to bring it up. After almost two years together, I've begun to notice a pattern. Every year around this time, his mind slips into this state where he stares off into space, and he gets distracted and sad and angry all at once. He doesn't think I notice it, but I do and it upsets me. Not the fact that something is bothering him, but because I don't know something about him, meaning I can't help him.
