Chapter 65: The First Space War -2

Thousands of years ago, an inhuman king decided to leave the earth with his own blessed kind and relocate their entire city to Moon. His spatial abilities allowed him to teleport the entire city, piece by piece and group by group, and build a huge thriving city in a place humans can never reach.
He felt this will keep his people safe and away from the harm from the human forces yet he ignored the creators who made them. The very reason for their blessings as he would call their powers.
Today, the very city, Attilan was in a panic because of their creators. Their present king, Black Bolt, his wife Medusa, the genetic council and many other warriors were sitting and discussing the possible reason for the throne room to have their historical symbols lit up at the same time.
"Esteemed members of the Royal Family, Genetic Council, friends and guests: What we are witnessing is the signal mentioned by our first King. The historical texts mentioned this in detail when the symbols on the throne lit up, which means the city is the greatest danger. Our ancient enemy has awoken from its slumber and we will face extinction if we are not prepared." - Kitang the head of the Genetic Council addressed the assembly.
" Oh! C'mon senior Kitang. Not you too. Surely, you won't believe those fantasy stories that we tell our kids to put them to sleep. I believe the symbols represent that city might need a change or our small kingdom needs new rules in place." - An arrogant voice came from the side and the speaker, Maximus, the younger brother of Black Bolt, tried to use this incident for his own advantage.
"Silence you fool! Do you really think we are blind to see what you are doing behind our backs! The coup that you are planning by talking to the slaves and other small leaders. Do you think no one knows about it?" Came a stern reply that shocked the entire throne room.
No one could speak this harshly to the king's brother apart from the royal family but there exists an exception to every rule. This exception here was the oldest Inhuman alive, Senior Adrok. Adrok's blessing was the ability to take life force from anything alive and gives it to himself or to another creature as he wills it.
He created the first garden here and with the help of his never-ending supply of plants and trees, he had survived to see more than four generations of kings. He never spoke in the last few centuries and only stayed alive because he believed one day, one king, will need his voice to silence any war.
Medusa looked at Black Bolt who was as shocked as everyone else present. He knew the things his brother was doing but he had chosen to ignore it but revealing his brother's deeds in front of the whole assembly, did bring him a great amount of shame as the King.
Medusa looked at Black Bolt and translated his words. "Respected Elder, since you are the oldest among us and had seen or heard things we have forgotten, please share your views. We need all the information we can gather now."
"The war is coming. The ancient texts that you take as bedtime stories were always real but you choose not to believe that all the blessings we have, are granted to us only because our ancestors were nothing more than lab rats for someone so powerful to create an entire race like us. Now, we only have one option - FLEE.
This city is protected by our dome and this dome, after thousands of years, is extremely weak and fragile. Even the king himself can destroy it. So, the enemies targeting us will simply do so in their first attack. No dome, No air for us. We can't even fight this war behind this wall of glass and energy. So we must flee and protect our people or face extinction." - Senior Adrok stated and then closed his eyes. He said what needed to be said and it was on the king to make the final decision.
The heavy words made the whole assembly face the fear hiding in their hearts. Yes, they cannot ignore the fact that the very thing that keeps the entire city alive is the dome protecting them. If something happens to the dome, Attilan will be annihilated.
Maximus though was feeling he was sitting on a seat made of needles. He thought he was always the one in control and his plans were safe but now he felt like a clown. He just wanted to leave this room and go somewhere to shout and curse to let out the anger in his chest.
"We have to hurry. We cannot sit and waste the time we have. We have no idea when the attack.." Before Medusa could even finish translating the signs Black Bolt gave her, they all saw a huge blue beam coming directly towards their dome from space.
"Escape to Earth! Find members of our race there and take sanctuary. Hurry!" Adrok shouted loud enough to wake all the other members of the assembly and had them running to gather the people to escape. He knew he must buy the time for them of no one will survive.
"Time for me to do the last thing." He jumped high enough from the balcony of the palace and a huge Beanstalk rose from the ground supporting him. With all the plants and animals along with many slaves dying instantly, the beanstalk rose higher and higher like the bedtime story of Jack and the beanstalk.
This plant went from the ground to the edge of the dome in seconds and Adrok was on top of it. Absorbing all the life energy that came in contact with his plants, he simply transferred it to this mutated beanstalk and himself and this made him near immortal. The plant itself was powerful enough to face King Black Bolt and was created in case one day the King went insane or was mind-controlled.
"BOOOMMMM!" A huge blast shook the very core of the Moon and the ground beneath the feet of Inhumans moved like they were standing on ocean waves. An earthquake of massive proportions levelled the once very beautiful city and killed hundreds if not thousands of Inhumans with the impact alone.
Thankfully, the dome was still intact and the one at the center of the attack was senior Adrok. Adrok chose to sacrifice all the older and adult injured Inhumans and in one swift attack, roots came out of the ground and absorbed the lifeforce of all such people. If this was done during normal times, Senior Adrok would have been branded as a madman and a bloodthirsty killer but now all of this sacrifice was necessary to make sure the younger ones survive this attack.
This showed the horror of Senior Adrok and the Royal family with a huge crowd finally finding a chance to escape. Every second, Lockjaw would pop out near the young kids or teens that were still alive and then teleport them to the rest of the people inside the basement of Royal Palace.
After another laser beam was launched to destroy the Inhuman city on the moon, the king and whatever was left of his people, teleported directly to a beach on Earth. Before they could even breathe and find their footing, they saw a blue beam in a beautiful night sky, attacking the moon and creating an explosion that could be seen from the earth.
A beautiful and grim reminder to all Inhumans that their home, their palace and their city were all gone and now they needed to fight a battle with an ancient enemy who created their very race.
