Chapter 93: Lotus
With the golden dawn
Klaus asked who those two were. Yuno explained his relationship with Julian and Asta. Klaus never expected the other rumoured four-leaf grimoire wielder turned out to be Julian.
" Asta was born without magic but don't underestimate him. He always ends up doing the unexpected "
Julian having four-leaf grimoire was known by all the captains and participants of that year. He rarely showed his grimoire during the missions so a lot of people claimed that news to be fake. But Klaus and Mimosa tried to think how the person with no ounce of mana could be special.
A while ago :
Luck separated from the group and went towards the room where he sensed a strong presence. As he entered the chamber he saw that the chamber was filled with smoke but not so much to hinder his visibility. He found that the presence he felt earlier was distributed all over the room. He didn't waste time and started defeating the other mages to avoid distraction. Some of them got critically injured and some got killed but in times when there was tension between the countries killing other counties' mages wasn't common. And Luck has already killed before so it didn't affect him.
After getting rid of the final mage he turned in a direction and said.
" They were all pathetic. You aren't weak like them right?!"
The direction he looked had a middle-aged man sitting leisurely on a piece of broken rock like it was his home.
The man had medium-length uncombed hair with a small beard and mustache. He had black hair and wore the dress of one of the old shining generals of the Diamond Kingdom. He also had a ring of magic stone on his head.
" Oh my, I am in trouble. Thank you for the praise. "
Luck immediately dashed towards him with lighting clad claws but he managed to dodge Luck's attack.
"The power of youth ….its frightening " said the man.
Luck remembered that he had read about the man in the reports. His name was Lotus one of the generals of the diamond kingdom. On the battlefield, if you didn't have a counter to his smoke magic, he would be a difficult opponent even for captains.
Luck reapplied his reinforcement magic and lightning armor covered his hands and legs up to the Elbows and Knees. He raw towards him at a fast speed ready to tear him with claws, just he was about to hit the man, he-man released a lot of smoke and blocked his vision. He shot a lot of lightning bolts toward the man but he seemed to miss all of them.
"It's not that I especially wanted to get involved myself into this you see. My kingdom is in a dire need of resources and I have two daughters to feed in my home so I can get empty-handed." reverberated a voice from all around.
Luck concentrated and released spikes of electricity all over the domain of smoke but it still didn't seem to hit him.
A voice reverberated again " By your robe, you seem to be a member of Black Bulls. Although you killed if I kill you don't know what that crazy captain of yours will do ."
" You seem to know my captain " Luck said to hit him again.
" We met on a battlefield years ago and he gave me a nasty scar on my chest. I had pissed my pants and had to run. I was quite shameful to lose to trying someone younger than yourself you know ".
The battle was now going up for like 20 minutes and Luck found that he was getting slower and having difficulty breathing but the room wasn't covered in smoke that much.
" You must have noticed by now that you are getting slower and having difficulty breathing. You see I am not good at frontal assault so I started setting up a colorless smoke field when you were busy fighting my men. Now it's time to end this. "
Black smoke surrounded Luck and formed a hardcover stopping his movement.
Seeing the situation worsened Luck released a shockwave of mana destroying the hard smoke but spikes of smoke hit him from nowhere. He realized that he has to get out of the smoke domain and ran towards the edge of the room. Different weapons of smoke attacked him from all directions. He somehow managed to get near the edge. That's when a wave of winds hit the smoke and he was able to breathe properly. Luck was a battle maniac and not an idiot so he knew he can't defeat Lotus alone. When he first joined Black bulls he kept everything to himself and only depended on himself during fights. As time went on he understood the value of teamwork and started enjoying it too.
" Took you long enough everyone ! " said Luck as a smile returned to his face.
