Chapter 17: Sniper shooter.
Her mission to get the sniper shooter was not successful as it seem the person figured out their plan befor she got there.
She was seconds away from getting the person. When she got there she noticed a car zooming out of the place. Her instincts immediately told her it must be that person. The building was a shopping mall so therefore no one was expected to leave that place in such a speed unless the individual was up to no good. She was able to have a glance if the occupant of the car. He was dressed in black with a cap.
Instead of going home she decided to head inside the mall to buy one or twice things so her movement in and outside the house will not raise suspicion. As she was about to make a purchase she noticed a camera at the corner and she figured that the mall must have an ICT room. She might just be able to get glimpse of the person she was on to. She also noticed heads turning and people whispering wherever she passed but she didn't care.
"I will like to see your manager " she demanded looking at the female attendant before her.
A look of surprise appeared on the face of the attendant for some brief second befor she quickly flashed a fake smile.
"What? Why do you seem surprise? Haley asked curiously.
"You are the bride that was abducted on the day of your marriage right? The attendant asked wide eyed.
It oocured to Haley why she was being looked that way since she entered the mall. Her father really made the whole town know about her marriage.
"Yes I am the same person which also means you know I am a cop so don't waste my time " Haley replied with a menacing look on her face happy with at least one thing she would not be stressed for what she came for.
The attendant with shaking legs quickly took her to the office of the manager who was a young man.
"Officer Drinkwater it is a privilege having you here what can we do for you? " the manager asked immediately he saw her. He knew there was no need to waste time with pleasantries as he was sure she didn't come to buy anything.
The attendant quickly melted out if sight after she completed her task.
"First of all I will like to have access to your CCTV room I need to check something by myself. Second I will like to know who are those that have access to the roof of this buidling? Haley asked
"I will lead you to the room, as we go I will provide you with the answer you need he replied with a solid voice that told Haley he wasn't really intimidated by her.
He quickly took her to the CCTv room which was just the next door after his office.
" The security guards are the only people with access to the roof. They have cards that give them access to the roof " he replied.
Haley could hear him but she was more focused on the different televisions befor her.
" pull up the record for the last thirty minutes on the camares facing these sides " She demanded pointing to the cameras on the exit and the one focus on the elevator and the one on a check point in the building.
She noticed a man that with a face cap carrying a bag. From the size of the bag she could tell something was not right.The dress code was also what she saw with the person that zoomed out.
She also noticed that when he got to the point for checking the guard at that post didn't check him properly.
"Wait" She shouted when she noticed something else.
"Take the vidoe back a little" she ordered as she looked closely at the camera.
"Pause there and zoom in very well " she ordered again as she became excited about something. No one else was understanding her at this stage.
There she saw what she wanted. The guard also slipped his card into the bag of the suspected shooter.
She looked for a place where the face of the suspected shooter showed clearly and took a picture of it. She intended she would show it to Pedro.
" I want that guard arrested and kept in a custody here. I will be back today for him. On no occasion should he leave this buidling today "she instructed pointing to the man from the screen.
She was already having this strong urge to return home hence she took that decision
