Chapter 36: The Common Aesthetic

When they finally made it back to the hotel room after a long day of playing tourist, they both showered and changed before turning on the second Mission: Impossible movie. Maya was worn out likely both from laughing so hard earlier and from walking all over the place and ended up falling asleep halfway through. 

Vincent's focus was more on her than the movie after that. As she snoozed, a wavy lock of hair flopped into her eyes and he reached out to brush it back before realizing what he was doing. 

Today had thrown him off in more ways than one. 

He had been apprehensive when she asked to come to the conference with him even though he hadn't wanted to go nearly four days without seeing her now that they had established a pattern of spending time together. The vultures that descended upon them just before lunch were the main reason why.
