C44: Slash of Light!
"Why would I deceive my king, and lose my place among the throne?"
Upon hearing this, the Blood Mage suddenly chuckled. "Lose my place? Why would you? Our Monarch is the one who's going to be the Queen, no one else."
The whole place fell into silence upon hearing her words. Not only the people inside the church but the ones standing beside the skylight too.
Alan was more than confused.
'What the –!? The Queen of Monorith... Celestia?? Wha... I can't believe that Celestia would ever betray me...'
He couldn't believe the Blood Mage's words, but come to think of it now, why would they write Celestia's name alongside the Blood Mage's on the Quest if not?
A moment later... The Moon King broke the silence with his words. "Why can't I sit on the throne?"
This dumbfounded each and every single one listening to this conversation.
However, the Blood Mage didn't speak after hearing this, simply came closer to him and sat beside him on one of the chairs in that row.
Elijah gazed at the Moon King as she burned with anger. 'This man... The man who killed Endier and everyone else? I won't let you become the king no matter what! Neither you... Neither her.'
"Do you think you can be king? Our Queen is destined to be the Monarch of Argoth... But you... You're nothing but a survivor, a commoner who lurks in the shadows..." the Blood Mage leaned closer to his ear.
"....So? Don't you think marrying our Queen is the only option? Why not marry her... You can have me in the mundane nights, the Queen when she demands you. Isn't that the life befitted for a king?"
"Hmph... A man who treats a woman when she demands, wouldn't even be a man." The Moon King huffed coldly as he stood up.
But before he could exit, two fathers blocked his path.
"Haha... You're dirty as always. Making living puppets." Ray spoke, upon seeing the red eyes of the two fathers.
They were not alive. Their blood was being controlled by the Blood Mage, just like a puppeteer.
They had no heart, so the sack of blood that is the body can be moved according to her own will.
"Ray... When did I ever play fair? If I have ever shown someone mercy, that may as well be you... And you only. Never forget that." She said, raising her hand and pointing it at Rayven.
Her fingers moved in a crooked way, and the fathers in front of me ran towards Lord Ray, to take him down.
But with just a sharp end of a cross... Ray would never go down.
'Sorry, dear fathers. Let me free your bodies from this endless suffering.' Summoning his katana, the Moon King spoke the words, "Eternal Flame: Grade 1 Slicer!"
An arc of blue flame ran across the air as he swung his blazing sword and slashed both fathers in half, dropping them dead instantly.
However, the flaming slash was not enough to reach the Blood Mage. She stood in the distance, smirking at him.
"Mmm... It feels good to kill you, more than letting some other bitches get you. I'll make sure to cut you nicely... Firmly and deliciously." The Blood Mage murmured, with a seductive look on her face.
"Well then, try, Nora." Calmly, Ray replied.
HAHAHA!!! With a wild roar of laughter, unsuitable for a princess-like girl, she raised her hands and moved her fingers in the same crooked way as before.
"Blood Alchemy... Grade 2, Blood Tentacles!" Nora said, pointing her crooked fingers at the Moon King.
In Blood Alchemy, their style manages to control one's blood circulation, and if the victim is wounded, the blood can be moved out of the body according to the user's will. However, Blood Alchemists can only use this form if the victim is gravely injured with a high blood outage.
As for their disadvantage, they can only manipulate blood by using a massive amount of mana, so a person who isn't a legend may not be able to use this.
The blood that was flowing out of the fathers' bodies sprung out in an instant, leaving only their skin and the skeletons behind.
"Hahaha! Thank you for all this blood, my love..." Nora said with a seductive smirk, licking her lips.
The two fathers lay dead in front of her, as the blood from their bodies hovered into the air, altered completely according to her will.
"Now... Die."
The blood shaped into multiple tentacles and they blasted towards the Moon King at a great speed.
"I'm the Moon King, babe! You can't put my fire out until it burns you alive!" Ray swung his katana more than 10 times in a matter of seconds.
Slash! Slash! Slash! The arcs of the blue flame shot away from his blade, slashing the tentacles in minutes, hurling towards the girl. However, the severed tentacles joined back, the second she had control once more.
"AGHHH!!!" The girl yelled out, and the blood spilled on the ground formed into enormous spikes. Some even crashed through the pillars and the walls.
Ray didn't have a choice but to dash backward, surrendering from the area back towards the door.
'Damn Alchemy... Always hated this thing.' Ray cursed, narrowing his eyes at the target.
"Begone, you scoundrel! Or beg for mercy and join our!—"
"Fuck no!" Ray yelled as he cast a new magic spell.
"Lightning Magic: Grade 1 Slash of Light." He exclaimed, closing his eyes.
He was in midair as 5 spikes created from blood charged towards him. The blue flame that ran across the blade disappeared, making an arc of lightning appear on the edge of the blade.
"Hehe... Begone you sinner!" The Moon King chuckled, swinging his katana at the woman. A flash came as he swung it, and all the tentacles disappeared with the blinding flash.
Half of the blood was drained by the bright flash, only remaining a quarter of the blood which was on the floor.
Ray slowly squatted on the ground, holding his katana, staring at the girl.
"So... Still think you can beat me?"
Even the Foxes above were astonished when he used Lightning Magic, not to mention, performing the Slash of Light, a slash that can defeat time and space itself.
'How did he manage to use that!?' Alan asked himself, astonished by the performance. Even in his past life as a man who was the Knight/ Swordsman Class, he hadn't experienced such an art. But this guy managed to do it like it was nothing.
With her hands dropped down, she looked down at the floor, not being able to look up at an opponent who had defeated her.
"I — I didn't know you had such power... It is a waste to destroy you, you know. Guess I chose a good human to have a little liking to." The Blood Mage said, slowly making the remaining blood emerge from the ground towards her left hand.
"Blood Manipulation: Grade 1... Sword Manifestation." A long claymore formed within her grasp from the blood, solidifying it into shape.
"Hmm... Classic sword fight?" The Moon King asked from the woman.
Nora finally lifted her head to look up at the man. Upon seeing her face, it freaked him out.
Tears of blood ran down her cheeks and she was crying.
"Holy shit! What happened to you, Nora!??" The Moon King asked from her, stepping back upon seeing her face. "What the hell did that stone do to you!?"
"I – I found power, Ray. I don't have to worry anymore. I am the most powerful, and my Queen is the one who'll become the Monarch of Argoth."
Her voice was trembling, yet, her body did not. With the sword in her left hand, she raised her right hand into the air.
"Crimson Magic: 1st Grade Explosion."
A red orb formed on the top of her grasp and she smirked as she gazed at the Moon King. "Bye-bye, Ray. I'll see you in Monorith, try battling me and my sisters."
"Wha... Everyone! Jump!" Lucy cried out, leaping off the dome of the church, simply by instinct. Owl grabbed Katie and Elijah, and leaped off the roof, carrying both of them.
All the others jumped just as Lucy screamed.
However, the Blood Mage heard them.
"Oh? Seems like we have some uninvited guests. Make sure they won't suffer a painful death from my own hands."
Boom! The crimson orb exploded, blowing up the whole church into bits.
"Lightning Magic: God's Parry." However, Ray did not desire to escape. He simply held up his sword, and the wave of crimson magic got sliced by his katana, allowing him to nullify the effect of crimson magic.
