Chapter 44: chapter 43

As soon as I finally done washing the dishes, I realised that I had forgotten to ask samra if she had left the hospital since she was there the whole day.

I texted her about Brian's mom, and she quickly responded without hesitation, and I was glad that we started talking.

She then asked about my notice and wanted me to send it to her,I asked why she didn't ask Martha, but her response made me pose before I sent her the notes via email.

I don't know why my heart jumped knowing that it's none of my business, and I just have to focus on my studies.

On one hand, I have a crush on Brian, who also likes samra, and now Martha tends to be with alvaro or Cody, whatever his name is.

But for once, I want to come out of my comfort zone and make friends and enjoy my college life. And also have fun while it lasts.

While thinking about it, samra sent me a thank you text. After that, I went to the kitchen to have dinner.

As I put the plate inside the microwave which Mariam had prepared for me before she went to sleep.

As I waited for the food to heat, I went to the fridge to get some apple juice to drink.i poured it to the glass when I suddenly heard someone opening the door.

I just waited to see who was trying to sneak in during the curfew. If it was mariam, then I would definitely scare the ship out of her.

I couldn't help but chuckle as she tried hard not to make a sound as she thought I was still sleeping.

She quickly put her shoes down while walking backwards. Unfortunately, her bag fell down, and her ozone started ringing.

She started panicking as she tried to end the call. All the time she was struggling, the microwave stopped beeping, which led her to scream and shut her mouth.

I tried to hold my laugh, but the way she screamed made me laugh at her expression as she looked at me confused.

"Sophie, seriously, you almost killed me." she still looked puzzled.

"Sorry I didn't mean to scare it's just I couldn't help seeing you acting like bugler in your dorm, by the way you're late" I reminded her as I pointed to the clock.

"Well, at least I am on time. See,"she showed me her phone.

"You're right, but can't always depend on luck, and you still haven't told me where you went," I said as i took out the dinner out of the microwave.

"I went to date with my fiance, and we have decided to get married on spring holidays."She smiled as she looked at her phone.

"Looks like he's already texting you as soon as you entered." I pointed at her phone as I heard it buzzing on the table while she sat on  the couch next to me.

"He likes to check up on me all the time, isn't it great ?" She asked as she typed on her phone.

I nodded as I took a bite of chicken noodles and turned on the TV.

"Don't get mad but I happen to give the guy Cody your number " she said as she looked at me.

"What?why did you do that?" I whined.

"I won't deny he looks like he's interested in you and I couldn't help but did it I hope you're not mad are you?" She said.

"I can't believe you dis that, you should've pretend you didn't know" I said not knowing why my heart suddenly skipped.

"Well let's agree he might text you any minute and besides don't you want to have fun while you're here?" She asked curiously.

"It's just that I never had time for fun my head was always in books and now ...

"Well now you have to let it go, have fun before you leave its not like you're some robot you need to live life " she encouraged me.

Though I spent my whole life in studies just to get into this prestigious school, I need to let things go and have fun by then I had already ate and was getting ready to sleep after praying my night pryer(isha) with mariam.

I was about to turn off the light when my phone suddenly vibrated, I looked at it and saw a text from unknown number.

Hi ,its Cody,

How do you feel now, I was hoping if we could get to know each other?

I couldn't believe that Cody just texted me I was about to text him but I realized it was almost midnight and I had to wake up early for college so I just left.

The following day I woke up extra early to get ready for a practical  for biology class and I didn't want to miss it.

Mariam was still sleeping and had no classes till lunch time. So I made her breakfast before I went to class.

It was almost class time and I made it just in time before Mr Cooper could enter the class.

He looked fierce and doesn't like when students either come late or miss his class he would be strict about it and would only give one chance.

Since we both came in together he didn't say anything I was glad that he didn't kick me out.

I quickly took a seat as he greeted the class, I took out my note book when suddenly the class went silent. As usual he would ask questions about the previous topic as I was about to answer someone knocked on the door.

I didn't bother looking as I was going through the notes when suddenly heard some girls whispering and taking pictures on their phones or iPads.

Someone seemed to have caught their attention and it was definitely not the teacher.

I glanced back to the door to see who made them blush and giggle I was surprised to see the unexpected person that I wasn't ready to see.

I didn't know he was going to be an intern by helping Mr Cooper out with practicals. Since he was a top student during last semester.

And here he is now standing in front of me. I was speechless that i didn't hear what he was saying.

"Is the seat taken?" He asked as he glanced at the seat next to me.

Without attering a word,I just nodded and he took a seat. I tried my best not to look at him, I even covered my face to stop myself from smiling.

Mr. Cooper slammed his book on the table and everyone went silent.

"Is it me or have guys joined this class because of someone?" He asked as the class became full out of nowhere.

It's usually had around ten to twenty but today it was full. He then carried on with the lesson after two hours the lesson was over and the class was dismissed.

I gathered my books and was about to leave when Cody looked at me amused. Half of the girls were still taking pictures of him like he was some celebrity.

"You didn't text me back last night why?" He asked as he came closer to my face.

"I... it was... late and I was tired so if you would excuse me I have to leave" I answered as I tried to leave.

"Since you didn't answer my text would you join me for lunch?" He asked still not budging.

"No and like I said am busy" I answered back as I stood up.

I didn't know why he was insisting so I just pushed myself forward and walked outside the class.

I barely reached the elevator when I heard him calling my name. I quickly pushed the button and entered the elevator I pressed the closed button but he was quick to catch up with me.

"You seem to be ignoring me why?" He asked as he stood next to me.

"I don't know what you want but I don't want to join you for luch" I said looking forward.

"I still look forward to see you later" he smiled as he walked away.

As much as I wanted to go with him I didn't want to look interested in him not that I would deny he's good looking and every girl would try to flirt with him

Not to forget he is Martha's ex and she would go nuts if she finds out I was hanging out with him not that is any of her business but because of our previous experience I don't want to get into any drama.

I surely hope that he would get the message and let it go but I would be wrong to hope for it since he doesn't look like someone to give up easily

Dear God let me have an easy way out of here with no worries whatsoever.....
