Chapter 11: 10

Once I came back to the dorm after dropping Sophia, I changed my clothes and hit the bed then I went to sleep but I couldn't, I tossed and turn but still I couldn't.
I sat on the bed and turned on the light, my roommate wasn't back yet so I didn't feel like I was bothering anyone with the light.
So I took my phone from the drawer and looked at the time. The time was still early so I texted Sophia and told her how I liked spending the time with her.
"Hey Sophia, I had a blast tonight, hope we could do this more often " I texted her.
"Yeah same here, and I also love the panda it's too comfy and i would love to spend more time with you too" she replied.
"Goodnight, sweet dreams " I texted her.
"Goodnight "she replied with a heart at the end.
I just smiled and was about to put my phone down when I remembered samra so I texted her to see if she would reply.
It took a while but eventually she replied which was a relief unless I didn't know what I was doing.
I mean am dating Sophia so why was I concerned about samra not that I didn't want to care it's just..... I don't know what am doing at times.
Soon we talked and at the text I asked if she was in a relationship but she didn't answer, I assumed she was either sleeping or she didn't want to answer.
I didn't wait long before my eyes got tired and I went to sleep.
Next day
As soon as I opened my eyes, I looked at my phone to see if she answered my question but I didn't see her reply.
"Waiting for a text?" Asked my roommate as he sat on the bed.
"Yeah, I was.... wait when did you come back you know the there is a curfew right?" I asked as I put my phone on the bed.
"Yeah of course I know I was lucky before the gate was closed". He said proudly as he played with the basketball on his lap.
I just smiled and went to the bathroom to get ready for class.
As usual I sat on the front to listen to the professor as I wanted to be fully understand the topic.
Before mr. Blair ended the class he made an announcement about camping and everyone to be prepared by the end of the week.
I was super excited for such an adventure and I couldn't wait to see what happens.
During lunch time, I went to the cafeteria and spotted Sophia with group of girls when she saw me she waved her arm and she yelled out loud and asked me to join her.
I smiled and sat next to her, she introduced me to her friends then they asked...
"Are you guys like dating or something?" A girl asked as she took a sip of mango juice.
"Yes we are" Sophia said as she puts her arm around mine.
I didn't know how to react to her. I just smiled and nodded.
Soon I was in the locker preparing myself for practice. One of my teammate fred came to me and he asked of i was ok.
"Why?" I asked
"You don't look good dude,something bothering you?" He asked confused.
"Am not sure ,I just feel like.... am between two paths and I don't know which one to take" I said slamming the locker.
"Looks like someone is in love triangle" he pushed me lightly.
"I don't know maybe I am or just not sure" I said.
"Don't worry time will tell, just try to focus on the game everything will be fine" he said as he shook my hand.
He left the locker room and I was alone ,I sat on the bench for minutes then went to the practice room.
As I was entered the room, there were students on some benches talking, others were cheering for the players and also there were cheerleaders practicing, I could see some girls were looking at me so a point where one them missed to hold a girl's leg and soon all of them were on the ground.
I felt sorry for them, I recognize one of them and it was samra, I didn't know she was in cheerleading club.
I went to her and helped her but she couldn't get up so I carried her to the infirmary, her ankle twisted but it wasn't that bad.
"Are you ok?" I asked her as the doctor was putting bandage on her ankle.
"Am fine and sorry for making you miss your practice " she said pointing at the door.
"It's ok there's still tomorrow " I said.
She then smiled and then the doctor asked if she wanted her parents to be informed.
"Is that necessary, I could just stay in my dorm" she said.
"Yeah but you also need someone to help you all the time" she said.
"Ok I guess few days rest won't hurt" she said sounding disappointed.
Soon the doctor left the room and I was alone with her.
I wanted to ask her if she received my text the previous night but the look on her face said it all. She was already disappointed to leave the school and I didn't want to ask her anything.
An hour later, a woman wearing an ethnic black outfit came to the room and she looked around as soon as she saw samra she hugged her.
"Oh baby how did this happen to you? Did someone bullied you?" She asked as she looked at the bandaged ankle.
"No mom I fell and thanks to brian he brought me here " she said smiling to her mom.
"Thank God if anyone tries to hurt you am always here ok don't be scared " said her mom as she kissed her forehead.
"And whose Brian?" She asked.
"That's me, madam " I said and she turned around to look at me.
"Well I... I don't know what to say but thank you" she said as she stood up to shake my hand.
"No problem, madam am sure I would have done to anyone else " I said proudly.
Then samra was discharged and was sitting on the armchair, I offered to take her to the car which her mom agreed.
When we got to the parking lot, I helped samra get in the car then her mom stood in front of me and she hugged me out of nowhere. What she said next made me feel like I was stabbed with a knife in my heart.
"Leave my daughter alone or else...
