Chapter 55: Competent Man

Jay had let her go just like that. Maisy actually felt a little regretful.

"What are you thinking about?" Jay watched Maisy staring at him without moving.

"Nothing." Maisy was afraid that he would see through her thoughts, so she replied somewhat awkwardly.

Jay suddenly leaned close to her again. "Maisy, I'll let you go just this once. Next time, you'd better be prepared."

Maisy was about to answer when Jay pecked her forehead. The rebuttal that was about to come out of her mouth was forced back just like that. She was carried away by Jay's gentleness. This man was really too nice to her.

"Good night. I'm going to sleep." Jay's tone was breezy.

"You can go sleep with Lucas." Maisy stopped him. "That bedroom hasn't been cleaned for a long time."

Jay nodded and left the room. 'Lucas should be very happy,' Maisy couldn't help but think.
