Chapter 159: Tenzo (Part 4)
'Experimenting on humans…' Tenzo was in shock, he remembered what happened to him.
Tenzo remembered being experimented on and Danzo would come to see if the Experiments had gone well.
"Tenzo," Ryuu called, but He didn't respond.
"Hey Tenzo!" He snapped back.
"Let's go."
"Right." Tenzo Replied.
Ryuu went on ahead, followed by Kakashi and Tenzo.
Ryuu tried to open a door.
"This one's locked tight."
"Leave it to me." Tenzo said.
Tenzo made hand signs and then put his finger in front of the door.
Tenzo's finger stretched and transformed into a key, and he opened the door.
"I've never seen that wood-style jutsu before.
Where did you learn it?" Ryuu curiously asked.
"It's a secret." Tenzo replied as he searched the lab.
"Tell me, do you know just how important wood style is to the leaf?"
Ryuu asked.
"No."
"The nine tails Jinchuriki belongs to the leaf, wood style is one of the powers that can control it."
"I know the Sharingan is the other power." Tenzo Replied.
"Your wood style isn't power just for the foundation.
It's a power for the entire village to use.
Danzo wants to keep you by his side but.
I think you're more suited to work for the Hokage." Kakashi stated.
"Wouldn't you like to leave the foundation? Come out into the sunlight?"
Kakashi and Ryuu left the room.
"Nobu, connect me to Kakashi."
"Done."
"Kakashi, he's almost broken, once we continue this pressure, he'll fight back, but we'll get through to him." Kakashi nodded.
They entered another room.
'This room was cold, it was bigger than the rest and that was for a reason.
Two giant tubes were holding creatures inside Ice. Kakashi and I wiped the glass and saw something inside.'
"What is that?" Ryuu wondered.
"Watch out!" Ryuu jumped in front of Kakashi as Tenzo attacked.
Ryuu had caught his sword and held it in his palms.
"Umph!" Tenzo kicked Ryuu away.
He controlled wood and made logs that stretched towards Ryuu.
Ryuu jumped over the logs of wood and activated his Sharingan.
Tenzo shaded his eyes and jumped back.
Ryuu and Kakashi jumped back and hid behind the container.
"Tenzo, if you're serious about killing us, then we won't hold back.
It'll be a death match, friend against friend." Kakashi said.
"Oh, I'm serious alright." He controlled three layers of wood to wrap Kakashi up.
"Dead serious." Tenzo stabbed Kakashi.
Whoosh…
Three shurikens landed on his hands.
*Poof!* Kakashi appeared behind him with a kunai aimed at Tenzo's head.
"Why do you want to kill me?"
"It's my mission." Tenzo replied.
"What kind of mission sends a friend after a friend?"
"You're the one to talk." Kakashi's eyes widened as a voice spoke behind him.
Tenzo turned into wood.
"Wood-style Substitution, huh?"
Tenzo attacked from behind.
Cling!
Ryuu cut through his Katana with a lightning-infused Katana.
A drop of sweat came from Tenzo.
'He's too fast…'
"Hey, stop fighting us." Ryuu calmly said.
"I can sense all your root members backing you up.
You don't have to fight us, we're your friends."
"A shinobi's mission is absolute."
Tenzo removed a backup Katana and started swinging his Katana toward Ryuu, Ryuu was dodging it with ease.
A long log of wood went flying toward Ryuu.
Ryuu entered Kamui and let it pass through him.
"A shinobi's mission is not absolute.
Your mission is to kill a friend, that's wrong, and the one who gave you that mission is wrong." Tenzo backed up.
Ryuu gestured at Kakashi to halt.
Kakashi nodded.
'Could Danzo-sama be wrong?' Tenzo wondered.
'No! Danzo-sama is not wrong!' Tenzo's eyes narrowed, and he attacked again, moving faster.
He threw shurikens, and Ryuu dodged them.
Ryuu frowned.
"Alright Tenzo."
He swung a kunai and Ryuu held his arm and twisted his hand, making him let go of the blade.
"I won't kill a friend, and neither should you.
Killing a friend is not a mission!"
"Is that why Kakashi wanted to kill Rin?!"
Ryuu and Kakashi's eyes narrowed.
"That's what Danzo-sama said.
He told me how Kakashi chose the mission over his friend.
He said Kakashi didn't know Rin was a clone, and it didn't matter to him!"
Kakashi frowned, his Mangekyou pattern appeared.
Tenzo gasped.
'Those eyes… They're just like his…' He thought and looked at Ryuu.
"I've worked for the Anbu for years, naturally, I have to deal with traitors, killers, and rumors.
Don't you dare speak about Rin!"
Kakashi entered lightning chakra mode.
With one hand sign, Tenzo controlled the wood from underneath Kakashi.
Kakashi vanished and appeared behind Tenzo in a blink.
"I almost killed my friend because I couldn't protect her! Because of this jutsu! Don't you dare speak about something you don't know!"
Kakashi aimed the Chidori at Tenzo's head, leaving him frozen and in a cold sweat.
"Are you going to kill me?"
"Are you a friend of the leaf? Or a traitor?"
Kakashi and Ryuu pinned him down.
"I'm not a traitor."
"Then what are you?"
"I'm… Kinoe, of the foundation."
"Alright Kinoe, abandon your mission."
Kinoe looked away.
"I can't." He replied.
"Then I'll turn you into custody and take you to Hokage-sama."
"Do whatever you please…" He weakly replied, Tenzo stopped fighting back.
"Ryuu, stop fooling around, he's not going to change his mind, seal his chakra already."
"Alright already, just quit being so pissed, Kakashi," Ryuu said as he sealed Kinoe's chakra.
"You were holding back to save me?" Ryuu nodded.
"But sometimes you can't save those who don't want to be saved, you know."
Kakashi cuffed him.
"Get up, we're leaving."
"But what about your mission?" Kinoe asked.
"Ryuu will complete the mission." Ryuu nodded.
"Don't let me stop you," Kinoe said as he attempted to stall and look back.
"Stop fooling around, my mission would've been suspended because of you," Kakashi said while pushing him forward.
"I'm not joking around at all."
"Just move." Kakashi pushed him.
Kinoe began walking.
Ryuu continued investigating the lab.
"I hear they train foundation agents to discard their emotions, is that true of you too?"
"Not just our emotions, shinobi of the foundation have no names, past either, we have only our missions." Kakashi glared at Kinoe.
"Well, you failed your mission," Kakashi stated.
Crack… They heard shattered glass.
"Kakashi, get him to safety!" Kakashi nodded.
He entered lightning chakra mode and carried Kinoe out of there.
"Hisss…" Ryuu took out his Katana after hearing multiple hissings.
'Looking ahead, I saw a giant white snake that had a body of giant white snakes.
It slithered and stood up to look at me.'
The snake attacked Ryuu, but he jumped up to the ceiling.
Boom!
It hit its head on the ground.
"Purple lightning: Dual bolt!" Ryuu charged purple lightning on both his hands and attacked.
Ryuu split the snake in half.
Meanwhile, Kakashi was outside with Kinoe.
"You alright?" Kinoe nodded.
"But… Why?" Kinoe asked as he got up.
"Why what?"
"Why did you save me?"
"I couldn't just let you die," Kakashi replied.
"But if you did, I would've deserved it."
"Did…
Did you want to die?"
"No… I didn't.
I… definitely didn't want that to happen."
"Then be grateful that you're still alive."
"I'm…
Alive."
"Not for long!" Multiple Anbu threw their shurikens toward Kakashi and Kinoe.
"Kamui!" Kakashi erased all the Kunai.
"You…" Kinoe's eyes widened.
"Why are you trying to kill me?!"
"Danzo-sama knew you wouldn't be able to do it, he sent us to kill you all!"
Kinoe frowned.
"Wood style…
No, my chakra…"
"Stay back Kinoe!" Kakashi stood in front of him.
"Not only do you have that brat Kinoe to protect, but there are twenty-two foundation members here, not even Kakashi of the Sharingan can survive this, especially now that you protect that brat Kinoe." Kakashi frowned.
His Mangekyou Sharingan activated.
'What are those eyes? They said he had the Sharingan but I've seen nothing like that…' He felt a shiver in his spine looking at Kakashi's Mangekyou.
"You guys must've not been aware that I too am a part of this mission."
That chill in his spine grew worse when he heard that voice.
"Ryuu Uchiha…"
"That's my name." Ryuu appeared in front of Kinoe and Kakashi.
"Get lost or else I'll kill you all."
Ryuu's Sharingan was active and Kakashi deactivated his.
"We have a mission, we won't abandon our mission." Ryuu shrugged.
"Well, alright then, have it your way."
Ryuu made a hand sign and inhaled a lot of air.
"Fire style: majestic destroyer flame!"
Boom!!!
A giant fire shot out from Ryuu's mouth.
Engulfing the foundation members in flames.
"Water style: Water dragon Jutsu!" 7 of them shot giant dragons to stop the fire from growing, but Ryuu increased his chakra.
The forest was being burned down, and only ash and coal were visible.
The ones from the back ran away.
"It's spreading the more he continues!
Aaah!" The last foundation member got burned to a crisp.
Ryuu stopped his jutsu.
"Huff… Huff…" Ryuu was panting.
"That jutsu was incredible…" Kinoe stated as he looked at the burned area.
Ryuu was holding his knees and panting.
"Thanks."
Ryuu started breathing normally again.
"Danzo-sama… He wanted to kill me…" Ryuu nodded.
"Do you still think he's right?"
"I…"
Kinoe was speechless, he was frowning.
"Kakashi, we should go back."
Kakashi nodded.
He uncuffed Kinoe, and Ryuu unsealed his chakra.
"But why would you…"
"You're our friend.
Now you make your decision again.
Remember, we're still willing to accept you into the leaf."
Ryuu made a hand sign.
"Wood style: Deep forest emergence!"
Boom!!
Multiple trees and flowers grew from underneath, and Ryuu remade the entire forest, even bigger now.
"Alright, let's go back."
