The sparring match in between Fay and Percy began. The first thing Percy did was call out to Fay who had begun running toward him with a devilish smile.
"Hey! If I win can I get a kiss?" His biggest goal was to distract Fay for a quick and easy victory. He was afraid that if she posed a challenge to him he wouldn't be able to control himself.
Even now in the middle of the fight his body was jumping in excitement. He couldn't wait to beat the overconfident girl that called his kick weak. He couldn't wait to prove his strength in a show of complete and absolute power.
Most of the intent was being suppressed by Percy and he could only barely hold himself back. But he wasn't sure he could if the battle got heated. He didn't want to embarrass her in some way so he took to distracting her.
She slid to a stop in confusion. "As if you'd beat me. I've been trained by professionals and my grandfather. You are just some background character in my bigger picture." She pointed at Percy.
"I will obliterate you. And grandfather will never need to ask some pathetic boy like you again." Percy sighed as his already quickly beating heart beat faster. "It seems you are still somewhat like your siblings." She smirked and tilted her head cutely. "And how is that." "None of you."
He paused, his pupils shook in excitement. He jumped up and down shaking his limbs and stretching his body. "Have respect for the stronger." He lost all forms of self control and sprinted at the girl.
She smirked and said "You don't know who you are talking to." She sprinted toward Percy but Percy came to a halt. He tried his hardest to abstain from fighting with his full power. His excitement beat away his thoughts and all he could think about was the experience and strength he would gain from this experience.
By now Fay had arrived in front Percy both arms up and ready to attack. Percys vision focused and he raised his arms to guard against a punch. He was able to temporarily restrain his intense love for the battle. When he noticed no punch coming he peeked around his arms to see Fay smirking.
A quick glance to his right surprised him as he saw her leg snake up and her foot about to knock him aside the temple. Her foot rose above his guard and threatened to knock Percy out in one blow. A quickly raised arm caught her by her ankle and saved him from being knocked out.
He tried to keep a tight grip on her ankle but she jumped on her other leg and twisted mid air to rip herself from Percys grip. Percy lost his grip and took a tentative step back. He was mildly surprised at the reaction she had to him raising his arms to cover his face.
He had left his entire body exposed to her except for his face. It would be odd to not take an easy shot on Percys legs or something. But she chose to go for his temple since he blocked off his view of her.
Wether that was a strategical play to knock him out as fast as possible, or wether she was so confident Percy couldn't block it, he couldn't say. The kick had major force behind it and Percy could barely stop it from knocking him out.
She looked at him in mild surprise but smiled wide once more. "Great! Maybe this won't be so boring." Percys stance solidified and he remained on the defensive. She launched herself forward her right arm swinging toward Percys face in a right hook.
He only swayed back slightly and completely avoided the attack. She was fast but not unmanageable for Percy. She struck out at him several more times but didn't even make contact. He always drifted right out of her attack and never left himself open to attacks.
Fay was in all respects a very strong person especially for her age. She was even better than most of the girls in the Prodigies but it was not enough to keep up with Percy. He hadn't even had to use aura to speed up his movements.
He wasn't actually moving all that fast. He just led himself right out of the range of the attack smoothly and gently. He wouldn't be able to do this normally but Fay's attacks lacked any kind of follow up. If he dodged one attack another would follow in a second or so.
The lack of fluidity made it easy to dodge the attacks. His eyes watched calmly as she continued to swing or jab at him only for him to drift out of her range. He was expending minimal energy while she tried desperately to fight back and burned energy quickly.
When she noticed that she wasn't getting anywhere she stopped moving and glared at Percy. "What the hell is your problem. You gonna fight back or what." She scowled. Percy smiled wide, "So if I win do I get a kiss?" His goal in provoking her was successful and she turned red.
Was it in anger or embarrassment he didn't know. "If by some miraculous chain of events you beat me, I will kiss you." She said through strained teeth. She launched a kick that Percy blocked with his hand redirecting it into the ground.
Her balance was thrown off and she swung at him with a back fist as she fell to the ground. Percy completely unprepared for the retaliation was socked in the jaw. He stumbled back and felt his jaw to feel for what had happened.
His eyes widened and his pupils dilated as an insane smile graced his lips. Fay stood up quickly and threw another kick at his head. 'I'll make it a challenge. No aura.' The kick was stopped short of Percys head.
He slowly turned to look in Fay's eyes. A tight grip remained on her leg as she was forced to stare into Percys eyes. "Forfeit now." He said. His body shook in excitement as Fay stared back at him disgusted. "Fuck no." She spit in his face.
Percy pushed her back and wiped the spit off of his face. "Okay." He whispered to himself. His feet pushed off the ground propelling him to the girl. She was surprised at the sudden boost of speed and could barely raise her arms in time to stop Percys punch.
She was pushed back a few meters before coming to a stop. Her arms ached from the contact and shook in pain. The gaze she sent Percy now was instead mild fear. He still pursued her and sent a barrage of punches toward her. Less than 10% of the punches were blocked and even when they were it still did a reasonable amount of damage.
By the time his first barrage was over Fay was on her last leg. Every part of her body was bruised except for her face. Percy held his strength back enough to not break any bones or injure any organs. "Forfeit." He said simply.
His shaking had gone down but his eyes still seemed tunnel visioned on Fay's beautiful face. Percy had no problem mildly hurting a girl during a spar but he was not comfortable with breaking bones.
As long as they are innocent. He had made sure to avoid her breasts and face and only struck something he deemed as safe for getting hurt. A long silence ensued as Fay thought of her options. "No." She said. She stood up straight and looked proudly at her grandfather.
The Clan Head only watched the proceedings in silence with a rather complicated look on his face. Percy admired her for being able to stick to her ground but it wouldn't last for long. He nodded respectfully and walked toward her once more.
She remained steady and watched as Percy slowly walked toward her. He feinted a punch to her face which prompted her to raise her arms to block it. She had become afraid of his hits and wasn't thinking thoroughly. He quickly circled around to her back and wrapped his arms around her waist.
She couldn't react before she was locked into a solid grip. "I'm sorry." Percy whispered into her ear. He picked her up off the ground before bending over his back.
He was about to slam her head into the ground behind him finishing the suplex before, "STOP." Percy froze mid back bend. "This match is over. Let her go boy." The Clan Heads voice boomed. Percy snapped back to the real world and released Fay who crumpled behind him.
She breathed heavily in relief and Percy thought he saw tears falling down her soft cheeks. He stood up and looked toward the Clan Head. Percy thought the Clan Head was angry but he found no anger in his eyes.
His gaze held only respect and some relief. Percy turned to the old man and asked, "Instead of the 10 million can I get a dark red potential Pokémon."
Percy didn't need that much money at the moment and the normal price for a dark red potential Pokémon is 10 million anyway. "Yes. You may. Xavier, go take him to choose a Pokémon and show him to his quarters. I need to talk to her alone." Fay still lay on the ground where Percy left her. Her head was in her arms and her back shook.
Percy walked past the old man and sent him a glance. After seeing no reaction Percy followed Xavier who took him away from the field they were in. Once they got far enough away Xavier said something to Percy. "I don't know much about combat but I do know that that was an incredible performance. Do not worry about the Clan Head. He wanted that to happen. She needed to learn her place." Percy nodded.
"We can only supply you with a couple of different Pokémon. I am willing to go check the catalog to see what we have at the moment. As you know most clans have a couple of Pokémon that they use exclusively. And here is the catalog."
They arrived before a large screen that showed pictures of 16 Pokémon. "This catalog shows all of the Pokémon the clan has that aren't actively owned by someone. Mostly Pokémon that are used for future distribution or breeding are on the list.
Every Pokémon except for Tauros are bred to produce Pokémon with good potential. So there's at least a couple with Dark Red potential in each Pokémon. Tell me which one you're thinking." Xavier explained.
The screen showed Ribombee, Cutiefly, Beedrill, Kakuna, Weedle, Combee, Vespiquen, Butterfree, Metapod, Caterpie, Beautifly, Silcoon, Wurmple, Cascoon, Dustox, and Tauros. Percy thought deep and hard about what he wanted to pick. What he needed at the moment was a Pokémon that could fly well and cover aerial defenses.
That was one of his weakest skill sets as of now. He would've like a Tauros but they aren't bred to potential so he won't find one better than yellow. Almost immediately he ruled out the Butterfree line and Beedrill line.
Those were extremely common Pokémon in the area and he thinks that it's possible for him to find one with good potential. Ribombee and Cutiefly were ruled out since they aren't strong nor aggressive Pokémon and they couldn't fly super well.
Vespiquen and Combee didn't work as they aren't the best battlers at least not when they are on their own. He would have to get a good potential female Combee and then 10 male Combee. He was left with the Wurmple line.
Since they aren't native to this region it wasn't a terrible choice and Percy doesn't mind getting either of their final evolutions. "I choose the Wurmple." He said confidently. Xavier nodded and opened the Wurmple tab.
A screen full of information on a hundred different Wurmple came up. He sorted the tab to go from potential most to least. After refreshing the page the best choices came up. 1 Wurmple at the top was a surprising dark blue potential which shocked Percy.
But Percy had no intention to take their most talented Pokémon so he looked for more. Under that 5 Dark Red Wurmple were shown in pictures. They all pretty much looked the same and had barely any differences.
Except for three of them. They had the description 'Children of the Royal Pokémon Dustox/Beautifly.' Percy was confused as to what that meant so he asked Xavier. "That means that one of, if not both, of the Pokémon's parents are a royal Pokémon."
Percy still didn't know what it meant but he didn't want to look dumb so he nodded as if understanding. The descriptions of each of the Wurmple described their personalities as well. The first one was a female that was described to be a prankster that would try to scare workers that fed it.
The second one was a male and was calm and collected and never caused problems. It was considered a prime candidate due to its agreeable personality. The last one was described as an extremely aggressive and violent Pokémon that would consistently attack Honey Clan members and even its own family. "That one."
Percy pointed at the picture of the troubled Wurmple. Xavier raised a questioning eyebrow. "Are you sure?" Percy nodded, "He sounds fun." Percy loves aggressive Pokémon. He thought that he felt their battling spirit shine through during battle. Crash is just one example.
Xavier shrugged and clicked on the picture. He found out where the Wurmple was being kept and took Percy there. Xavier and Percy met with some Honey Clan workers. Xavier explained to them what was going and some of the workers looked at Percy as if he was suicidal.
One of them patted Percy on the shoulder as he entered a large man made forest. Xavier stayed back as not all of the Pokémon in the Wurmple enclosure were friendly and he didn't have anything to keep him safe.
Percy sauntered through the shaded man made forest and looked up to the sky. A glass dome covered the roof and Percy could see Beautifly flying above him. He walked for a minute until he sensed an aura signature swing toward him.
His head turned to see a Wurmple swing from branches like some sort of superhero toward Percy. It launched itself toward Percy aiming its behind spines toward him. The spines glowed purple and dripped poison.
Percy whipped out his Pokédex quickly scanning the Pokémon. "So it's you huh." He whispered. Once the Wurmple got within range of Percy he promptly slapped it to the ground.
The Wurmple was only level 5 so it was barely strong enough to even swing like it was. The Wurmple lay on the ground for a second stunned as it had never been hit in its life. It slowly got up and tried to sting Percy in his ankle.
He calmly kicked the Wurmple into a tree. The Wurmple repeatedly tried to kill Percy but was painfully unsuccessful. Little did Percy know he was being watched by a very strong Dustox in the dark branches.
The Dustox watched mildly amused at the spectacle. It's child had been aggressive since birth and nobody had taught it a lesson and it needed one. The Dustox was grateful for Percy for doing what it couldn't.
Eventually after about 10 more kicks the Wurmple stopped at its desperate attempts at hurting Percy. It stared up silently at Percy its anger shown in its eyes. "You little shit. So weak, but so much spunk. I can turn you into something big if you wish." Percy held out his hand to the Wurmple.
The Wurmple jumped at Percys hand to bite it but was promptly hit away. Percy suddenly felt something staring at him and turned around to be greeted by a very very large Dustox. He squeaked in surprise and stumbled back.
This Dustox looked way different than any other Dustox Percy had seen. This Dustox was actually slightly darker in pigmentation. Almost all of it was dark grey and it's wings were at least 4 times larger than normal Dustox.
It's body was 3 times larger than a normal Dustox and the Pokémon took up almost all of Percys vision. A crown of fuzzy antennae circles the top of its head giving it a royal look. "Are you his parent?" Percy asked tentatively.
The Dustox nodded and gestured to the Wurmple. "I was going to get him to join me. Can I take him." Percy asked. The Dustox approved after sensing Percys character and silently flew off into a darker part of the forest.
The Wurmple was still trying to get up but Percy held a pokeball in front of its face. "Get strong with me or lag behind here. Choose one." Percy said. He knew how to act around Pokémon like this and being scared or not assertive will not be good.
He also knew that the Wurmple valued strength and that was the best thing to negotiate with. The Wurmple looked at Percy one more time before head butting the pokeball. Percy had successfully caught Wurmple. He nodded happily before walking out of the forest.
Once he made it back to the entrance of the large glass dome Xavier was waiting for him. "Did you get it?" He asked. Percy nodded. "I should've told you about this but you need to get permission from its parents. Did you." Percy nodded again. "From a very large Dustox." "Alright then I'll take you to your room. You can stay until you leave." Xavier guided Percy to a hallway of doors where he entered the first one.
Xavier said goodbye to Percy and Percy examined the room he was staying in. He had no way to know if they were recording him so he just remained silent. The room had a modern style and most of the room was white. Most of the appliances were colored yellow or green. A small kitchen, bathroom and large bedroom were the only thing he had.
A large glass window was the entirety of one wall and Percy could view a training ground. Nobody was on it so Percy released Crash and Wurmple. Wurmple looked around curiously before attacking Crash. It tackled Crash but Crash didn't even feel it. Percy picked up the Wurmple that was actually pretty big for its species and age.
The Wurmple stared at him angrily, before lunging towards Percys face. Crash grabbed the Pokémon mid air and tossed it onto the bed. Percy examined the worm as it squiggled around on Percys bed. Percy pulled a MooMoo milk from his Pokédex and forcefully fed it to the Pokémon.
It struggled for a minute until it gave into Percys insistence. After it was full Percy pulled up his Pokédex and searched for potential increasing items for the Wurmple. After looking for a few minutes Percy found some materials that were at his expectations.
He found the shed skin of a high elite level Dustox on the market and he found an antenna of a Dustox that was high elite level on the market. Both of the things costed 1 million pokedollars but Percy only had 1,133,000 in his account. He sighed before calling Xavier and getting him to buy the items. It was still only 4 in the afternoon and Percy still had plenty of time to do things before it turned dark.
The first thing he was going to do was gain the respect of the Wurmple. The Wurmple watched Percy as he called Xavier. Percy crouched down to the Wurmples level and said, "The only way you can get strong fast is if you listen to me. Something that can't at least listen is never going to become strong.
I will guide you. I only ask for an ear." Percy whispered to the worm. Wurmple slowly lowered its head into Percys outstretched palm. Percy felt the rubbery texture of the Pokémon's skin and lightly scratched it. He stood up and scanned the Wurmple with his Pokédex.
Pokémon: Wurmple
Level: 5
Abilities: Shield Dust, Run Away
Gender: Male
Potential: Dark Red
Moves: Tackle, String Shot, Poison Sting
There wasn't much to say about the overview because the Pokémon was only a couple days old and still hasn't developed Inherent Moves.
Percy just told the Wurmple to practice String Shot as that's the only move that can have some potential use in the future. Percy didn't know if the Wurmple would become a Beautifly or a Dustox so he didn't want to make solid plans.
Wurmple only nodded at Percys request. It had already been practicing String Shot and was pretty good with it for being level 5. Percy didn't really want to train with his Pokémon for the day because Pharaoh would fall behind.
He wouldn't want people to see Pharaoh yet and his other Pokémon would pull ahead. Instead he wanted to go to sleep early and wake up with plenty of energy the next day. There was a lot to do at the town to the north east and it would probably suck Percy dry of energy.
In a way he was very excited to confront a giant threat. A very big chance to experience a large battle between humans and Pokémon made his heart beat in anticipation.
He let his Pokémon out and lay in his bed. A few minutes later Percy fell asleep with his Pokémon surrounding him.
