#1 When The Sun Shine
It's been five years long and I still remember that day. The day when we first met and entwine a contract together. She who always beside me after that bizarre event, she who never left my side no matter what happen, and she who always protect me like a sword held by a knight.
That day is a rainy day. The mist containing magic energy is still heavy around yet I am wounded and unable to move for long. I sit around the closest abandoned mansion to repose my body before my vision going to blackout. I need to rest and recover my wound as soon as possible cause the possibility of those monsters sudden appearance is still high. There's still some medicine left but not much, yet it just enough to close and recover this one wound.
Then, I look around the mansion's surrounding.
There's something odd about this mansion. The mist is still thick around but this abandoned mansion seems doesn't take effect. I can breath freely without worrying about the evil energy possessing my body. The mist may be dangerous sometimes, it may contain strong tranquilizer effect which makes my senses gone berserk and left my consciousness behind.
The reason I am out here is none other because of my sentence. I must exterminate every evil creature around this area and beyond until my last drop of blood. Which means, this is a suicide mission for me since I've disappointed my leader. She sent me here so I could suffer yet bringing good fortune for the people inside the capital.
No ! I mustn't think this mission as suffering. This is for the good of the world, this is also include the reason I joined the forces. Leader is a great woman who consider everything. I mustn't let her hope fade and I'll survive for the least five more years then I'll surprise her with these scar I got.
But who am I kidding. There's no reason to reassure myself like that. Her eyes show me the real terror, she just doesn't need me anymore.
Ah..... I think I just want to live in peace. Five years later, yes five years later, I am going to start my peaceful day and joined the society I always protect. Home..... I'll make my own home and start all over again. I wonder if I could meet my mother once again but seems that I may make her sad if I suddenly showed up like this.
Just five more years, I am allowed to enter the city again. After that, my new whole life will start and I'll be able to live whatever I like. But the only question is, how am I supposed to survive for five more years ? I am in horrible state right now and this is not even a month. Am I going to die like this ?
But seems I could survive, even though the chances are little. This mansion is must be the key to survive in this wilderness. I see no mist coming through inside the mansion's yard. There must be something inside the mansion. Enough of my curiosity, I decide to rest and heal my wound before I venture again.
I lean my back to one of the mansion's pillar. Staring at the grey sky waiting for it to release its tear.
"Bread, lettuce, egg, tomato, and then bread again. What a perfect morning I crave for."
While thinking about the meal I want to eat on my peaceful day, suddenly a faint sound of a girl calling for my name. I don't recognize the voice yet she know my name. My eyes widened, I hold tight my bayonet knife and aware of my surroundings. This must be the mansion's trickery. I do really must not let my guard down even a little.
But when I check my surroundings, there's no sign of life sign around. A bizarre yet common event when a human getting close to the abandoned places. I've encounter a dozen time this kind of event and always ended by a fight. Just for now, I could rest for a bit and straighten my legs.
The echoes then going so hard. Every time I tried to ignore the sound, the more it ricochet through my mind with a higher tone like an echo inside a cave. I shake my head and hoping the sound could gone from my head. But seems, there isn't any option to deprive the sound from my head other than coming straight to the main source of this echoing voice.
I turn my head and observe the abandoned mansion from where I sit. Toughen my body to just stand up, I enter the abandoned mansion from the main entrance. Everything what I need to engage a fight is ready beside both of my hands. I grab my bayonet knife, attach it to my rifle tightly, and beware of my surroundings.
~~Quiet.... the mansion is way too quiet~~
the voice is clearly heard.
~~Watch your steps.... your legs is the most defenseless part of your body~~
another different voice could be heard.
There's nobody here yet the voices echoing so hard like they were whispering right into my ears. But when I tried to listen the voice again, all I could heard is just a melody of silent and an acapella of heart beat along with footsteps. Yet the more I ignore the sound but aware of my surroundings, the noisier the whispers is. My mind is going crazy as I explore the mansion.
Not long after, my body collapse. It collapses before I could going down the stairs. I tried to stand once again by grabbing the stair railing. This home venture is much tiring than I expected. Those voices ringing beside my ears is unstoppable and the voice is just getting louder as I approach the floor below the stair. I bet there's nothing inside but I have a feeling that I have to go anyway. Cause I wouldn't know if I don't try it yet.
"All I wanted now is just a peaceful days...." I mumbling.
Then, after three step going down stairs, I lost my consciousness. My body fell, I close my eyes, and I lost my senses of pain. My body just keep rolling down until my consciousness are finally gone. But as I close my eyes, a pair of white tiny legs come closer. A white, slim, and tiny child like legs.
Suddenly, but I am not sure when, where, or how I ended up here.
I am falling into the never ending abyss of light. Surrendering myself, I know I have no chance for surviving this height. The abyss is bright, it's like everything around me is made by light and I am falling between the glittering stars. I raise my hand above my head, trying to block the light entering my eyes. As expected, the light penetrate my hand and it never leave my vision.
Not long after, I realize something bizarre. I never falling into the abyss of light, I'm flying higher in high speed like I was falling. My body elevated by an unknown force. A petal of bright red rose falling on my face and going down even further. The flower's petal falling into the never ending abyss of light whilst I am going up even further.
It then began to rain, the rain of flower petal from above me. A beautiful scenery of flower petals rain around me is gorgeous. I turn my head and look at my surroundings. The gorgeous feeling from this scenery is blinding my awareness and I'm excited just from this. Then at that time, I saw a dark silhouette of a lady with the same height as me. She's smiling ominously at me, I even can heard her giggle.
"Who are you ?"
But then, I woke up. I am awake under the gentle sunlight seeping through the broken ceiling. Other than that, I am awake under a little girl's care. She's sleeping on my chest like she was accidentally fell asleep in a class after the class was over. Then she turn her head against me, she's not asleep, now she's staring at me while clinging on my chest.
Yes that was the story of mine five years ago. The first time I met with the girl I take care like my own daughter. She's unnamed, nobody were around her while we first met, she just live there all alone since she was born yet she's fully clothed. A beautiful dark blue haired little girl with red agate eyes, white smooth skin, and has a rather unique pair of ears.
"I heard your wishes. I may grant you the peaceful days you crave for." the girl staring deeply inside my eyes and then smiling ominously like the dark silhouette lady. "Hey.... would you like to became my master ? Thus I'll serve you as a Servant of Light."
Without having a big expectation for living, I accept her request. My body suddenly emitting a white light and then every wound I got is healed. This phenomenon is just like a dream, I hardly believe it yet I am so grateful if I really am healed. But recalling her request again, it just feels so unreal to be true.
And yes, it's not that easy to be her master. A horrible experience I had that day were the worst thing I've ever had in my entire life. What kind of experience ? No way I am going to speak about it. I don't want to recall anything bad in my life.
"All I wanted is just had a very peaceful day. Nothing less nothing more." I mumbling.
"Cade ! I am going to leave you behind." shout the girl who always beside me.
"Hope you could. I bet you don't even know where to go next, right ?"
Then, our peaceful days in this bizarre world is continue. I don't know what'll wait for me as soon as I enter this city again. But whatever it is, I won't let it disturb my peaceful days together with her like a family. The only thing I am sure is that she'll be so mad of my arrival.
"Satay ! I want chicken satay !"
