Chapter 14: Chapter 14: East Youkai Faction
I realized after that when I made the poll that there was a possibility for it to come out as female, no humanoid form, yes harem... I'm not doing that. Though I did see someone who voted that way. Anyways, so for those of you who wanted a wolf girl, you got one.
Also, Lyra got the most votes for her names, so it will be her name.

The next morning, Inari and I woke up and walked out of our tent. The forest was still dark due to the thick canopy mixed with the dense fog. The bane wolf leader walked over to me, seeing me awake, and nuzzled up against my chest. It would've normally been cute, but bane wolves aren't the cutest animal in existence, so it was a little weird, but I pet it's snout nonetheless.
"Lets keep moving, we have a ways to go. Do you mind carrying us to the center of the forest?" I asked the leader.
[I don't, but the center is controlled by a powerful youkai, are you sure you want to go there?] It asked in an uncertain manner.
"Positive, that's the whole reason we are here is to meet the youkai." I returned.
It nodded slightly and lowered itself to the ground, letting me up on its back. I pulled Inari to sit in front of me, and wrapped my arms around her waist. She leaned back into my chest with a smile, closing her eyes.
"Alright, lets go." I told the wolf below me.
It let out a low growl to the wolves around it and took off towards the center of the forest with the other wolves running alongside us.
"I am curious, are you male or female? Most wolf packs have two alphas, one male and one female, though I never saw another alpha?" I asked the wolf below me.
[I am female master. We are not like other wolves, we only have one alpha, which in this case is me.]
"Ahh, that's good to know. Do you have names or was there no need until now?"
[No master, none of us have names. There was no need.] She responded, though I heard slight anticipation in her response.
"Would you like one?" I ask with a small smile.
[I would appreciate one master.]
"Hmm, how about Lyra?"
[Lyra is a nice name master, thank you.] she replied with hidden excitement and joy. I'm sure if we were stopped, her tail would be wagging back and forth.
"Sure sure. Well Inari, I think we'll reach the center of the forest much quicker now, we might even be there by the end of the night." I told to the girl relaxing in my arms.
She hummed in response but didn't show any signs of moving. I tickled her sides, "You are something else Inari. What am I going to do with you?" I teased.
She giggled, smacking my hands tickling her sides, and looked up at me. She grabbed my shirt and pulled me down into a kiss, which I happily responded to. "Keep hugging me, cherish me. You know, the usual stuff." She said back with a smile.
I chuckled and tightened my arms around her, and kissed her again. "Yes ma'am. How am I supposed to tell my mother her best friend is now my lover, on top of my sister." I joked with mock despair.
She smiled and turned back around, leaning on me once again, "The same way I tell my best friend I'm going to fuck her son." she laughed while responding. I shook my head and kissed her on the neck, leaned my head against hers, and closed my eyes.
After teasing each other, the rest of the journey was uneventful and we kept riding deeper into the forest. We ended up not making it all the way to the center of the forest and rested for the night again.
The next morning we got up and this time I did make Inari actually turn into her fox form, which I hadn't done the whole day yesterday. I hopped back on Lyra's back and we continued deeper into the forest.
It took us close to three hours, before a break in the trees showed, though it looked like a small empty clearing until you got closer. To any normal person who actually managed to make it this far, alive, it was just a normal small clearing. To anyone from the supernatural there was a bounded field, as well as spatial distortion.
Lyra walked up to the barrier and let me down while I was now carrying Inari in my arms, where she curled up and fell asleep. I walked up to the barrier and looked back, "Lyra, follow me and tell the rest to wait outside of the barrier for the time being."
She nodded at me and looked to her side growling something at the other wolves. Looking closely I could see she also set up a telepathic connection to each wolf, similar to a broadcast. After a few seconds, she followed behind me and we entered the barrier.
On the other side, the space was much larger, encompassing a small city with a few large buildings that could be seen over the walls. we had to walk a little ways around the walls before arriving at a gate, which was on the opposite side of the largest building in the city.
In front of the gates were two Tengu, holding spears in their hands. Seeing us approach they took a defensive stance, though they were also wary due to Lyra following behind me. One of them yelled, "Halt, what is your purpose here!"
I look at the one who spoke, "I'm here to meet with Nurarihyon. He should've gotten word I was coming to Japan, and would be stopping by." I said nonchalantly. The two guards were only low class in terms of strength, so I didn't put much thought on them.
The guards laxed their postures, but not entirely. "You must be the Devil that was supposed to be coming here then. We were told you would be arriving. We are to escort you to Master Nurarihyon's home. Please, follow me."
I just nod and follow behind him, with Lyra following closely behind. The other guard wanted to say something, but swallowed his words when Lyra looked at him. Mind you, Lyra is still equivalent to a high class being in strength, while these guards are only low class.
We were led to the largest building, directly opposite of the gate. I told lyra to wait outside while we talk. We enter inside and, an old man was sitting down at a table conversing with two Nekomata women. One being an older black haired Nekomata, and a much younger white haired Nekomata.
They notice us enter and look at us with a curious expression. The old man and I stare at each other for a moment before he chuckles out loud. "You must be Asame-san's boy. You have her eyes."
I nod with a small smile, "Yes, I am. I'm Valerian Maara. It's nice to meet you Nurarihyo. You two as well."
"Ahh forgive me. Allow me to introduce you to the elder, and leader, of the Nekomata clan, Magari. This young one is her student Fujimai." Nurarihyo Introduced the two.
'If I remember correctly, Fujimai is Koneko and Kuroka's mother. She married a human researcher, leaves Kuroka and Koneko to the Naberius Clan and dies from an experiment gone wrong.'
"I also apologize to you, Inari-sama. It took me a while to figure out it was you and not a normal fox." He continued while I was lost in thought.
She sighed, "That was the point you fossil. Well, whatever, I don't have to stay in this form now." She transformed back into her youkai form after finishing her sentence and stood next to me, intertwining her fingers with mine.
The two woman are surprised, even I am, though for a different reason. I'm slightly surprised that he could tell who she was, while the two women are surprised Inari was there. They both bowed and spoke at the same time, "Apologies, greetings Kami-sama."
Inari rolled her eyes, "Hello Magari-san... It's nice to meet you Fujimai-chan."
Nurarihyon raised his eyebrow at her actions, but he wasn't going to question one of their goddesses, so he looked back at me instead. "Well, what can I do for you? All the message I got said was you might visit us."
I shrugged, "To be honest, I don't really have an objective at the moment. Originally it would've been to find someone to train my girls to fight using weapons. Though that isn't a problem anymore, so I guess mostly to find someone to fight. I have sparred a few times against other devils, but most devils fight using mainly magic. I want to fight someone whose more physical based." I say after thinking for a while.
He thinks for a minute, "How about it Magari, want to fight the boy?"
The elderly woman doesn't look too surprised by his question and thinks for a minute, "I don't mind. Though I'm not really a physical fighter either."
I shrug, "I'll find someone, I don't mind sparring with you."
"Alright, then we will spar in a few hours if that works for you." She said.
I nod in return and Magari made a suggestion, "Fujimai-chan, why don't you show Valerian-kun around the village."
"Of course Magari-sensei." Fujimai said while standing up. "Please allow me to escort you around Maara-sama." She said while bowing to me.
"Please just call me Valerian, you can drop the sama Fujimai-san. And I'd be happy to have you escort me." I respond. She nods in reply and the three of us walk out and tour the city with Fujimai leading.
