When the trio finally awoke, the sun was already at the middle of the sky. The sun being above the desert island, they could feel the heat getting hotter and hotter, at more than 100 degrees.
Without any shade, few parts of their exposed skin were getting burned up.
" Good news, we survived the wreck, bad news we're on a desert island. "
Aria uttered, her hands placed on her hips at the same time trying to hide the devastation written on her face.
" We need to get out of this place. "
Qin Cheng said while rising on his feet, wiping the sand stuck on his black pants.
" If you've got ideas I'm all ears. "
" We can build a raft, a boat or something. "
He replied his face brightening up at the idea.
" Tks, with what? There are no trees, it's a desert island. "
Xander scoffed still lying on his back on the sandy ground.
His white shirt was fully unbuttoned displaying his perfectly chiseled upper body while his left palm placed slightly above his eyes, sheltering them from the raging sun.
His wide shoulders, narrow waist and long legs made his perfect model figure even more attractive and alluring.
Not even the torn and bloodied part on his right shoulder's gunshot wound could overshadow the noble aura he exuded.
Why did he look familiar though?
Aria was lost in her thoughts scanning him from head to toe.
A Hollywood celebrity?
Probably.
His magnetic and low voice was casual and attractive making it hard to resist.
Aria snapped from her wild thoughts when his teasing gaze met her eyes.
Her face slightly turning red, she let out some coughs to hide the embarrassment.
' Gosh Aria what's your problem?! '
She grunted under her breath annoyed at how her heart suddenly missed a beat when their gazes collided.
He was hot though...
Putting on a blank face, Aria asked him.
" So what's your idea? What do you think we should do? "
" Our first and biggest priority is to find a source of fresh water. "
Xander replied helping himself up. His facial features squashed together in pain when a sudden and sharp pain shot him from the injury on his shoulder.
Having stayed in the water for too long and the previous night's freezing temperatures, his whole right arm had gone numb and it was almost immobile. It felt so heavy and painful as if he had been ran over by a tractor.
" Are you okay? How's the wound? "
Aria asked nervously noticing his extremely ashen face.
She had been the one who cleaned it out for him and dressed it thus she was afraid in case it became infected.
It would be dangerous in their situation since there were no hospitals, no nothing.
What would they do if the guy lost his life in that deserted horror of a place?
She also felt entirely guilty since she was aware that the guy took the bullet while protecting her. She had no idea how but he came all the way to her cabin in the cruise to get her. How couldn't she feel touched?
If he died, she didn't know how she'd live with that trauma for the rest of her life.
Quietly sighing, the three realized that they'd be in that no water, no food, no shelter situation and they'd have to figure out how to cope with that.
They were too exposed on that island and just a day without water in that heat they'd be dead.
" What if we climb up this thing and find out what's up there... "
Qin Cheng thought out loud while wiping the thick layer of sweat on his forehead. His grey t-shirt was already down following the extreme heat. His face screamed immense desperation like the rest.
" What's the use? That thing is probably 100 feet high and with this heat it's almost impossible. Furthermore you'd only find ridges and more cliffs at the top. "
" Damn it! Then what else are we gonna do?! "
Qin Cheng cursed glaring at Xander. He seemed to always be giving a negative answer to each solution they came up with.
" Swim across to that jungle and wait for rescue. "
Xander casually uttered pointing at the island across the desert island, a few miles stretch of water.
Unlike the one that they were in, that one had trees and vast vegetation and it'd probably have some source of water.
From the looks of it, Xander saw it as the only option else they were going to die of dehydration.
" Alex are you mad?! "
Aria widened her eyes at him in disbelief.
" Swimming would be suicide. Splashing the water would attract the sharks and if they don't, the f*cked up currents will! "
She snapped in one breath.
