Chapter 48: Forty-Eight

Lucinda stood in the infirmary surrounded by her colleagues from the Union.

“I heard the damage was extensive, but my word. She has injuries fit for a soldier.” A tall man with long blond hair and a blond beard stated. This man was Silas Everest the White Warlock. He was the second in command of the Mage’s Union.

“Silas, please she’s a hero.” Queen Eris said looking down at Ash expectantly.

“She’s pretty. Look Papa, she’s awake!” The child council member Sachihiro Okafor the Purple Warlock said.

“I see.” Adil Okafor the Green Warlock said.

Ash opened her eye to see that her bed was surrounded by unfamiliar faces, confusion made itself known.

“Well Adil, how does she look?” Lucinda asked.

“Whatever magic was used to resurrect her managed to get her body back in order. However,” He put his hand on Ash’s forehead.

“What is it?” Lucinda asked now worried.
