Chapter 156: Crimson Heart Crystal

While the others waited above, Cyanide alone descended down to the very bottom of the deep and wide ice caverns beneath the mountains. He approached the massive blue crystal at the heart of this particular section of the open caves, and inspected it closely. It appeared to be encased in blue ice, but strangely, it had no snow accumulated on it despite the blizzard and snowfall entering the caverns through the gaps in the overhead ceiling, unlike the rest of the icicles jutting out of the ground around it.

"… Odd," Cyanide muttered to himself, then carefully, hesitantly, placed his hand on the crystal. Instantly, from within, a red light pulsed, and he quickly backed away. From his fingertips, hot steam rose, visibly standing out from his surroundings.
