Chapter 234: ANNE'S STORY (2)

Chaos dropped to his knees and then stared at the little girl, who was seemingly almost on the brink of death. He stretched out his hand and touched her forehead lightly.

"Get up," he said. His voice was not loud, but it was clear enough for Anne to hear amidst the pitter patter of the rain.

Anne blinked her eyes. She breathed heavily and felt her legs were so painful. She whimpered when she tried to move them, but she tried to get up nonetheless, just like what he had ordered her to do, yet it was hard. It was beyond her strength.

"I can't…" she started crying. She tried to push herself up once again, but she couldn't do it. Her arms felt like they had almost been popped out of her shoulders.

She did regain her consciousness, but was trapped in this pain, which almost made her feel paralyzed. This frustrated her and Anne was afraid this man would leave her alone in this scary place.
