Chapter 5: Chapter 5

The Akatsuki were….. interesting people. Apparently, I had arrived just in time for a full meet up. When I was first introduced to them, Samehada instantly tried to latch on to me. According to Kisame, I tasted good and had huge energy reserves. When the others heard that they were wary, Deidara tried to fight me, but I declined and went back to introducing myself. After that whole fiasco and Pein explaining what I was here for, to hunt down Orochimaru, then others mostly left me alone.

Most of my time spent searching was with Saosori, as he had an extensive spy network. While before, the Akatsuki had only allocated a small percent of spies to searching for Orochimaru, Now they had half doing so. Despite how impressive the spy network was, and my own searching, it still took over 2 weeks to locate him.

The snake had just moved bases, so he wouldn't be moving again for a while, and they had tracked him. James wanted to corner Orochimaru in the base to make escape harder. Saosori had "work to do" and left soon after we reached the base, but I knew that they just didn't trust me. He took a deep breath and created an air vacuum around himself to stop his smell and lightened his footsteps as much as possible.

When he was directly above the underground base, he lept into the air and hovered there before clapping his hands and starting. The base was huge, and covered a huge amount of space, so this had to be big. He started muttering latin as his magic stirred and a huge circle appeared under him.

O ignis domine, infer hanc terram magnam brutum, emunda infra me malum, et peribit inimicos meos. He muttered that over and over again as the air started getting hotter and magic swirled into a firestorm below his feet. People had started emerging from the base, but it was too late. He took a deep breath and with one last shout let loose the fire storm. The forest above the base was incinerated instantly as the stone the base was built into melted and took the lab with it.

He continued floating even as the fire dispelled and he gazed upon the once lush forest below him, now a hole in the ground. He sighed before he felt something slam into the side of his face and he was sent screaming into the ground. He hit the ground with a large crash and a plume of dirt, but he barely had time to get up before a fist came careening towards him. He blocked before sending another one and creating a gust to sweep away the dust.

As the dust disappeared he was left with the view of a very mad and very tired looking Orochimaru. "So, the rotten snake lives on. Impressive." Across from him Orochimaru clenched his teeth in rage and screamed out " DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'VE DONE?!" "Well yes I do, I just destroyed your base and killed your subordinates." Clearly, it was a rhetorical question as he soon screamed out " SHUT UP! First you give me that blasted book. NOT A SINGLE THING MADE SENSE! "Boiled griffin feathers"???? WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT!!! And now… now this. You've destroyed all my work, all my experiments, and even killed off those useless workers!" He snarled angrily as he prepared his chakra again.

James sighed in exasperation. "Well, I did tell you that you had to return the book in 2 weeks, and you didn't, so here we are." Orochimaru didn't respond verbally, instead spitting out a fireball and rushing towards him. James waved his hand and the air around the fire was sucked out, dispelling the fire. Orochimaru didn't react, instead continuing to charge forward and initiate a fist fight.

The fight was over soon after that. Even with the strength boost from his rage, it also caused his thinking to drop significantly. Akin to a mad bull, he just attacked with no real thought. The ring would later be found in an envelope without a note, and the Akatsuki would never see James again. The crater would be investigated, but no cause would be found and a thorn in the leaf's side would never again bother the fire nation. James would return to the tower with his book, having found it on Orochimaru's person, and everyone was happy. Except for the corpse obviously.
