Chapter 3: Chapter 3
As the doors rumbled open and he plastered the best smile he could make with his grief as he heard a voice, "Now this is truly interesting." And in walked 13 people. People that he distinctly recognized. The Phantom Troupe had come knocking.
*Phantom Troupe POV* (AN: Im gonna do the POV of the visitors, comment whether you like that or not)
They all sighed as they trekked through the woods, searching for that weird energy signature they felt before. They felt it pulse again and they all took off running. With their speed, it only took about 10 minutes to cover the distance and they arrived. What they saw was not the thing they expected. In the middle of the forest clearing there was a crack in the air.
"The hell is this!" Uvogin roared, "We came all this way for fucking crack in the air!?" He was pissed now. He wanted to kill someone. Chrollo spoke next in his normal soft tone. "Now don't get overworked, this could lead somewhere interesting. Pakunoda, throw a rock in." Shrugging, Pakunoda did as she was told and threw a rock in. It didn't come back.
"I think we should go in." Chrollo stated in his ever blank tone, the crack interested him, and he felt no aggression from the other side. The other spiders looked at him like he was crazy, but alas complied as he was their leader. Sucking in a shaky breath the spiders jumped in. Losing consciousness soon after.
Chrollo awoke with a gasp, and couldn't help but marvel at where he landed. It was a big, open plain with clear blue skies and a…. Massive tower?! 'What the hell, where did we land?' He mused in his mind. Looking around he noticed that the rest of the spiders had awoken and were marveling at their surroundings.
"Spiders, come we're heading for that tower, it probably has answers to wherever we are." The rest of the spiders nodded and they began they're trek to the tower. They all agreed that wherever they were was beautiful, soft rolling plains, perfect temperatures, and lush forests. Arriving at what they thought was the door Chrollo put his hand on the slot and blue lines raced across it and they rumbled open, casting a golden light on the inside. "Now this is interesting"
*MC POV*
'Haaaaah it had to be the spiders huh, well I should be able to deal with them if they try to fight. Chrollo doesn't seem like that though.' Regardless of my thoughts I plastered my smile on my face and welcomed them. "Welcome Phantom Troupe, to the Library. I am the tower master here." He received suspicious looks all around except for Chrollo's blank one and Uvogin's angry one. Chrollo then spoke, "Where exactly are we?" I sighed and motioned for them to come closer.
Slowly entering they gasped as the lights came on and they looked upon the books. Chuckling, I spoke. "Impressive isn't it, this library holds everything ever written down. I will allow you to take one book, but you must return it within 2 weeks. I don't care if you copy it down though. Now, what type of book would you want." The spiders all huddled up and I began reading. 5 minutes later, they came back. "We would like a book on ways to survive on the dark continent, and what is safe to bring back." I was surprised,I thought they would ask for nen techniques, but I shrugged and summoned a book like that. It was large, at least 2000 pages. I spoke again, "Should you not return this book in two weeks I will hunt you down and take it."
The other spiders looked like they were going to protest, but a hand from Chrollo shut them up. "We will return it." That was good, he didn't want to think about the possibility of chasing them through the dark continent. That place was hell. "Goodbye then, until next time, spiders." He got shocked looks as he uttered their name, but he forced them out of this world before they could retaliate. "Hahhhhh now we wait."
