"I want each of you to pick an individual among your people who shall become part of the Deus Council. However, be warned: the moment they become part of the council, they cease to answer to you," Kingsley explained.

"The Deus Council!" Frug called out in shock.

They both knew what that meant. The Deus Council were the actual rulers of the entire empire. They managed the resources and controlled the military.

Their say was final unless countered by His Majesty, which didn't happen often.

Beyond that, to be part of the Deus Council meant being among the strongest people in existence.

The emperor had just asked them to select the future monarchs who would rule over not just the empire but their own kind.
