Chapter 28: Moving away.. again?
Claire asked me if I could stay awhile for a chat. Apparently, I could see that Claire has some sort of a serious atmosphere going around her.
As I sat down, Claire looked at me and started talking,
"Dendi, do you know how dungeons are formed? What they are and why do they exist?"
Before I could answer, however, she continued
"Have you ever wondered how we possess these abilities?"
"I don't know." I answered
I waited for her reply but apparently, she wanted me to give a longer answer.
"I have no idea, really." I said to Claire, now sighing.
"Last night, there have been a top-secret report of a monster from a dungeon roaming an alley in Moscow, Russia. The monster has been dealt with, luckily there were no casualties and all camera footage has been taken down. But here's the biggest problem; monsters aren't supposed to get out of dungeons."
As she said that, I closed in to listen with greater interest.
"Did you know that the first known awakened was an Indian prince called Siddharta Gautama? We know him as Buddha and he existed thousands of years ago. Meaning, dungeons have existed thousands of years before we were even born." she continued
"Now why does the world not know the existence of portals if it had existed for thousands of years? Nor was there any records about monsters roaming the world?" she continued
"There are 2 possibilities; one being that writings about dungeons were hidden or thrown away and second would be that there was never a monster roaming in our world. The case in Moscow could be the first one, in history," she said while holding two fingers.
"I see where you are going." I told her
Before she could say anything, I cut her off politely
"Do you want me to go investigate the case in Moscow for the favor of the visa as I own the ability to Teleport?" I asked
"Yes, and if possible in secret," she told me
"Alright, sure," I told her, agreeing as I owe a debt for the visa.
"Thanks. We will be putting extra effort monitoring all dungeon portals to see if there's gonna be more monsters coming out. Oh and please keep this a secret." she told me.
"I'll try to investigate as soon as possible," I said that to her as I teleported back to Japan.
'Ouch, just when I started my first day of school I've already gotten into this kind of a mess. But that thing in Moscow does sound interesting. Was it triggered because of me killing Lord Perseo?'
I slept for a bit, to rest myself. And I woke up, preparing myself to go to Moscow.
