Chapter 101: Dropped a bombshell

Clary was sweating buckets of fear. It felt like a bomb had just dropped, shattering her world into a million pieces. Had she heard correctly? Did he just say he was her father-in-law? When did he decide that she was his daughter-in-law? She hadn't even completed her studies yet. Was her father practically arranging a child marriage for her?

Clary's eyes locked onto her father's, scanning his expression for any hint of surprise. Eugene, sensing his daughter's apprehension, wasted no time in interjecting. "Alistair is just being playful, Clary. He is teasing you because you didn't greet him first. You know how he is with you, always pulling your leg. Don't let his words get to you."
