Chapter 16: Conquering the First Floor
When he wakes up again, it is already nearing noon. He goes to the bath to wash his face on the sink, then goes back to his room to eat something.
He have an appetite for some pizzas now, so he decided to have it. He chooses the Hawaiian Flavor.
While eating, he is thinking about his next actions.
'Right. I think I have to explore the first floor.'
His plan is to move one step at a time. He will be making turrets every corners and then going back to the stairs. He will be repeating this everyday until he covers the whole first floor.
"Hmph. This plan will work!" With another bite of his slice, he decided to go with this plan.

After he was done eating, he took some simple exercises, rest for a bit, before finally leaving his room.
With the lantern in his hand, he traverse the hallways up to the stairs to the second floor. Going down, he pinches his nose at the strong acrid smell that hits him.
"Ugh! What the hell is with that smell!?"
As he managed to go down enough, he saw the gruesome sight of a pile of giant rat corpses.
"Oooegh.... this is too gross..."
He takes the Evaporator in his inventory and uses it to deal with all the corpses scattered on the floor. He didn't want to look at their body carefully. He just won't like it.
This took him a few minutes before he is done evaporating all of the corpses. Then he repaired the floor using his upgrade. He only have a single upgrade left so he used that.
After that, he looks around the place.
"Hmm... where does these monsters come from?"
Despite being scared, his curiosity gets the better of him. He takes one of the guns on his storage and hold it in his hands. This is in case another monster is still remaining here.
When he took the first turn, he felt a bit scared. There is this feeling of danger on that direction. Like some sort of malice that is overpowering.
He decided create a laser turret in front of that hallway before hastily running back to the stairs.
"Shit! That's too scary!" He said.
Along with being a bit paranoid, he is also not used to horror. When the world still makes sense, he always plays shooter games or RPGs. He hates jumpscares, and any forms of eerie atmosphere.
There is an abandoned mall in his neighborhood at that time, and when his friends invited him to visit it on Halloween, he rejected them because of it. He really hates going to scary places, or anything horror related.
He goes back to his room on the second floor while hoping that the turret takes care of whatever is in that hallway.

Tomorrow morning, he came back to the first floor to continue on his plan. He have 20 Upgrades, thanks to his increases income. He can use it to take care of the monsters.
His upgrade on the floor of the first floor is always becoming the Old Floor. It seems like something is always breaking the floors or something, seeing the prompt that always says (Old Wall with Holes) anytime he tries to repair the floor.
It might be because of his Evaporator, though he felt there is something else happening here.
The large amount of giant rats is mind boggling. It is making him disturbed. Where did they come from?
Yesterday, he just recall that he can convert everything into points with either ODO and DF. He felt like punching himself at that time when realizes it.
So currently, instead of using the Evaporator, he is converting the corpses into points. It doesn't really matter how much points they give him because he already have more than enough to buy anything in it.
After taking care of the rat corpses near the stairs, he goes to the nearby bend on the hallway, where he put the other laser turret. He is surprised to see that there are a lot more large rat corpses in there.
He also converted them into points before staring at the ground.

Now it is confirmed. Something is making holes on the floor.
He is sure it's not him. He didn't use the Evaporator..The laser turrets are also not at fault, they are pointed straight and not shooting below. He made sure of that.
Now he is becoming scared at this realization.
"Damn! I have to secure this place more carefully!" He said.
Then he created two more laser turrets. One is just like the one on the ground and the other is a wall turret. He installed the wall turret above the turret on the floor.
Then he walks away and go to the other direction. This time, he is going to the area where he thinks the exit to this building is located.
It is just behind the stairs, and the area there is wide. He can see the three large openings which might be the three entrances to this building. It reminded him of the wide entrances to some malls.
Now he is becoming curious what this building is used for. That kind of entrance is only if the one who plans the building schematics here is thinking of letting a crowd pass by occasionally.
"Maybe this is a company of some sorts?" He guessed in curiosity.
Anyway, because he is not confident about his safety, he made laser turrets behind the stairs, facing the entrance to this building. He made sure to spread the turrets out so it won't clutter up when shooting any invaders.
Then he hastily go upstairs and wait things out again. Tomorrow, he will expand the secured areas.
Rinse and repeat. That's the thing he will do until everything is safe.
"I wonder, is it because of those giant rats?" He wondered aloud to himself.
He thinks he'll learn soon enough if he continue expanding his secured area on the first floor.
