Chapter 23: Chapter Twenty-three: Wait There is More
Back home Rias along with her peerage went to her room and Haoyu went to look for his father to ask some questions. He found Qin Chao sitting in the living room watching TV. Seeing his son with a rare serious face Qin Chao immediately turned off the TV.
Qin Chao: What is the matter kiddo you almost never have such a serious face.
Haoyu hesitated briefly before telling his father everything that has happened to him in the past few days. Qin maintained a calm face until Haoyu mentioned the Archdevil appeared in his core.
Qin Chao: What you have described is thanks to the bloodline that your grandmother has.
Qin Chao went on to explain that there exist six realm that souls are placed into. The six realms are hell, ghost, beast, human, asura and heaven. Haoyu's father is from the hell realm himself but his grandmother is actually from the asura realm. His grandmother is a devil that became so strong that she needed to be moved to the asura realm. She became known as the Archdevil asura because of not only is she able to absorb any living creatures flesh, blood and souls. On top of that she can also use the power of darkness to further increase this power. Thanks to that she is feared by only the most powerful beings of different mythologies.
Haoyu: So our ability to absorb souls comes from grandmother but then why is it that ours is so much weaker then her's.
Qin Chao: Not many know it but that is thanks to your grandfather. To be honest I normally don't like to talk about it but your grandfather is actually a dragon.
Haoyu's jaw dropped to the floor after hearing what his father had said. He thought that there was nothing else in this upside down world that could surprise him. As it turns out not only is his grandmother op but his grandfather is also a dragon. However there was something in his father's sentence that confused him. As if he read Haoyu's mind Qin Chao continued to talk.
Qin Chao: Yeah the thing is when I was born everything I inherited from my parents became weaker. When it comes to my father his ability to manipulate different elements took a decent hit. I also don't really have a true dragon form. Actually that is the reason I created my avatars.
Listening to his father that is normally pride to the near point of arrogance admit this shows how proud of his he is. Qin Chao face became darker as he continued to speak.
Qin Chao: Ever since I was a kid I would feel ashamed by how no matter how much I tried my powers never reach their level. Still they never let me feel bad for it but rather they encouraged to find my own way. I did find it eventually but still held that regret. Now thanks to you I don't need to worry about that anymore.
Seeing his father's relieved expression Haoyu could only stand there impressed by the world that God created for him. However that took a back seat to the thought he may awaken even more abilities. If my dragon lineage were to manifest then I would maybe gain something amazing. For now I decided to hold off on that thought until later. Done talking Haoyu returned to his room so that he can understand more about his newly formed Archdevil. Quickly entering his core he found the Archdevil standing and mocking the Buddhas opposite of it. Haoyu could feel that the Archdevil was a combination of all nine of his Avatars. His thoughts where broken when he noticed that the two forces where fighting for control. The boundary between was getting pushed back and forth. He instantly knew that the two forces were fighting for supremacy. As he was watching them Haoyu could not help feeling that he is always dealing with something like this. While he was feeling exhausted there was another stir from somewhere else. Soon a powerful roar filled the world silencing the power struggle. After they finally completely stopped the roar faded leaving only silence. Haoyu quietly looked them over to see some dissatisfaction in their eyes but they still stopped their fighting. After staring each other for a while before finally leaving each other alone.
Haoyu: So does any one have any possible ideas what the hell that was about.
Li Yun: Master if I did not sense wrong then that roar came from a true dragon.
She then went on to explain that while it is possible for reptilian creatures to become dragon like a true dragon is different. A true dragon's presence alone can cause mass panic not to mention their destructive power. From what she could tell that roar came from a primordial dragon. Haoyu decided to ignore that for now and focus on preparing to fight Riser in three days time. In the original plot Rias was supposed to face him in a rating game ,and when she lost Issei went to underworld to fight Riser for her again. This time the rating game was skipped but Haoyu felt that he should think about if it is OK to be with Rias. He was broken out of his thinks when he sensed someone entering his room. Opening his eyes he found Akeno stand there with a look of determination.
Akeno: Before you say anything I want to listen to what I have to say first.
Taking a breathe she then continued.
Akeno: We have been together ever since we were young so when I say I know you I really mean it. During that time I noticed when you looked at other girls there was no attempt to hide your desire. With us though you look like you felt guilty for even thinking about it. Still I want you to know that we all agree we are yours until the day we die. There for what ever is stopping you take your time to settle it because we will always be waiting for you.
After saying her piece Akeno left the room without allowing Haoyu time to respond.
