The Chaos energy first infected their existence on contact. Their existence resisted it, so Chaos energy began destroying their existence to remove the resistance. Then it used the leftovers from the destruction to proliferate and create more Chaos energy, thereby increasing in power and making subsequent destruction to eliminate resistance easier.

Chaos energy will only get stronger over time and will not end until the infected dies. It is a vicious circle that ends in death. It is why world gods don't like coming into contact with world enders at all. 

His concept was an attempt to not only imitate those sequences of actions but also improve on them. This is something that someone with their knowledge and greed would want to achieve.
