Chapter 5: Hellhound

The dog was light. I didn't expect it to be able to sit in my arms, it seemed happy. The tails thumped against my stomach as it licked my neck. My dress was ruined, black blood saturating the soft silk fabric. It didn't matter. This dress was one that Richter had given me.

I would do anything to burn it.

Etton waved his hands in seeing two figures in the distance. The garden was starting to show up. I held the dog tighter. Sensing my worry, it quickly licked my cheek. I patted its head in response, a slight smile curving onto my face. Carlisle wouldn't care, would he? If anything, I could beg him. I could tell him to use this dog as a way to manipulate me.

The last time I had gotten a pet Richter had killed it. Carlisle could do the same. Etton quickly ran to the two and by the time I had caught up, I could finally hear the conversation.
