Chapter 132: He Killed Her?

The girl in the drawing looked exactly like the one in the photo. With a jolt, Ace realized that there were two girls in the picture. The other one was clearly a younger Cora, grinning more happily than he had ever seen.

There was another part of the photo that caught his eye. The Sharpie drawings on the two girls' arms. They matched.

Ace hadn't realized that she used to do that with a friend. He thought she only did it on herself. She had continued the habit all these years later even after losing the girl in the photo. Why? For sentimental reasons? But if she was that sentimental, why weren't there any pictures of her up in the apartment?

"It looks exactly like her," he said.

Cora's expression grew unbearably sad. "Yeah. I wish I had more pictures of her but, at the same time, they're hard to look at. It's not like I'll ever forget what she looked like anyway. She's permanently branded to my brain."
