Chapter 237: Acting on Karma's Behalf (2)

Without waiting for a second more, Marcus rushed out of the door, finding himself to be in a worn-down apartment. The only light shining through the curtainless window was the orangish hue of the streetlamps. Ignoring the brown stained walls and the damp smell from the ceiling, Marcus pushed past the nearly empty living room and to the door. Past the smells of the awful apartment, he could still smell Camilla's scent and decided to follow it.

As he swung the door open, he felt a knife go in between his shoulder blades.

"You cocky son of a whore," Rudy growled behind him, twisting the knife next to his spine. Marcus groaned and turned, hissing as Rudy held tightly to the blade that edged closer and closer to the nerves running down the spine. "How does it feel to be jumped? If it wasn't me, it would be another. You're fucking surrounded, Marcus. You can't fight everyone!"
