***ADDIE'S POV***

The next location wasn't far from where we were, so we decided to ride the carriage on the ground rather than in the sky. It would only take an hour at most, and it would give us time to decompress from the excitement of the morning. It would be best to arrive at the next village with a calm heart and smiling face. At least, that's what I had hoped. 

"What was that?" Hunter asked as we were riding along the road.

"I don't know." Uncle Orson said as he turned toward the door. There was quite the entourage walking and riding with us, so there was a lot of noise on the other side of the carriage's walls.

"Is someone following us?" I asked him, as I turned in my seat, intent on looking out the back window of the carriage.

"We should have noticed them before they got this close. Don't you think?" Nolan looked at Hunter, confused about the situation outside.
