***ADDIE'S POV***

I was left there in the room, while Violet took Ginger to her room. She needed some rest, and a healer. She was sick, there was no denying that, but I didn't know what she was sick with. And there was that thought, the wandering not so deep down about whether or not this was something intended for me.

Had someone who wasn't happy about me and Nolan done this? Or maybe it was done before the explanation was given. Maybe someone had tried to do this before we had explained ourselves, and now it was just too late.

I would never forgive myself if something happened to Ginger because of me. If one of my staff, my friends, were killed because someone had misunderstood something about my life. And what was it to them anyway, huh? Why did they have to get so angry about me not wanting to date any of the men at the Academy? That was my prerogative, wasn't it?
