The words bounce around in my head, echoing inside my skull until I am able to make sense of them.
Leaving. Father is leaving.
"But...but why?" my voice cries out. My eyes glisten."Y-you can't go!" I know immediately that I should not have spoken. I am never to question my parents.
But father does not look angry. He takes my hand. "I must go off with your uncle Yoriichi, " he tells me.
His grip is now painfully tight, but I don't let go. "Promise me, Mizuki. You will take care of your mother and sister."
I meet his gaze. Nodding fervently, I say; "Yes. I promise."
I turn to leave. As I slide the doors closed once more, I hear my father's voice call me one last time.
"Oh and Mizuki?"
I pause. "Yes, father?"
"Don't go looking for me."
I shut the doors and walk away, letting the tears finally fall down my face.

Okaasan and Akako-chan are waiting for me outside in the garden. Beautiful blossoms in every shade of pink, red and blue are blooming everywhere the eye can see.
I tried to say goodbye to oji Yoriichi, but I couldn't find him. I wipe the tears from my cheeks with the back of my sleeve as I sit down next to okaasan, who is watching Akako play in the grass.
She must know what I know, because she pulls me close and wraps her arms around me affectionately.
"Shh. Shh," she murmurs as I cry silently. Sobs rack my body, but no sound escapes my lips. "It's all right," she says quietly as she rocks me back and forth.
Akako-chan stops running and skips over to where we sit. "What's wrong, Mi-chan?" she asks.
She doesn't know.
And she must never know. As long as I can keep it from her, I will.
haha this is really short one lol
