Chapter 288: 287. Sweet smell

THIS SCENE TOOK PLACE BEFORE THE SECOND MEETING BETWEEN ALISTER, GLEN, AND ALICIA, RIGHT AFTER THE VAMPIRE HAS BEEN ATTACKED BY HIS CHIEF, RYANS. 

Arms shaking on the floor, Alister tried to gather his strength but the tremor in his arms wouldn't calm down and he felt like the actual opposite was happening. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't muster the strength to get up off the ground, his forces were failing him. The vampire heard a noise not far from him and the next moment, two feet encased in an old and worn-out animal skin shoes appeared in his field of view.

Alister lifted his head and looked up at the watch-duty tribemate he had met a few minutes earlier. The latter regarded him with a look that was both disapproving and sympathetic.
