Chapter 671: Riot in the court
"I would bet the beast knows of the mysterious crimson-eyed woman that escaped the seen of the crime! Indeed! Is the 'Mysterious woman' even real!? Who outside of the 104th Trainee Corps even saw her!? Are they all traitors!? THIS MUST BE DISCUSSED AND DEALT WITH IMMEDIATELY!"
Mikasa growls under her breath, soldiers had been pointing their weapons at her since her earlier tantrum, leaving her at risk of being shot on the spot. She wasn't worried about that however, the threat to Eren and Armin overwhelmed every other worry she might have had.
Without proof of their lack of involvement, they would be brought down with her... It didn't help that neither of them was officially in a proper Corps yet, leaving them with no real safeguard against persecution.
She needed to do something... Anything... Even if she were to die, she wouldn't let her family die again! She wanted Eren to fulfil his promise and dreams, she wanted Armin to experience the ocean...
Mikasa grits her teeth and looks up at the roof with moist eyes, causing many to look over at her... However, an idea pops into her head, a way to deal everything in one fell swoop... "SAEKO! SHOW YOURSELF! TELL THEM HOW IT IS! TELL THEM THE TRUTH!" she shouts, knowing the strange swordswoman would hear her.
"Saeko? Is that the name of your associate!? Were you planning to try and escape all along!?" Nile shouts from the M.P stand, prompting many soldiers to ready their weapons.
"No! Saeko is the woman who was there that day! The one who gave me these abilities! She's the one who brought down the three traitor's in their titan forms!" Mikasa desperately explains.
"Then why weren't we made aware of this sooner!? Why did you hold these facts!? Not only is it criminal to obfuscate vital information in reports and in trial, but to not reveal the identity of a huge security threat?! This does not help you at all, Mikasa Ackerman!"

"I-I'll do it! I'll do as you say! Just-, save my family!" Mikasa shouts aloud, ignoring Nile's words.
The hall goes silent, everyone looking around to see if Mikasa's 'associate' would do anything. Mikasa herself was looking around too, hoping that Saeko would actually appear and save them. She wanted an apprentice, so if Mikasa had to become one to save her loved ones it was an easy decision to make.
"Hmph! Looks like your associate isn't as trustworthy as you thought!" Nile grins broadly, only to pause when someone behind him stands from their seat.
"Finally, I was thinking you would actually rather die than accept my offer!" the crimson-eyed woman wearing peculiar clothing smiles as she walks past the petrified Military Police. The two strange katana's on her hip and the massive blade on her back being the only thing stopping those nearby from trying to apprehend her.
"S-Saeko!" Mikasa shouts, her relief giving way to a tide of mental exhaustion that hits her all at once.
Saeko hops off of the stand, gracefully and seemingly weightlessly landing on the ground ten or more feet below. "You were cutting it awfully close. With how boring this trial was, I had half a mind to go visit a nearby restaurant."
"You were here the whole time?"
"Of course, I couldn't let these idiots harm my future apprentice." she pats Mikasa's cheek and rests a hand on the handle of Kakonoitami, immediately causing the nearby soldiers to aim their rifles at her.
"RELEASE THE WEAPON OR WE'LL FIRE!"
Saeko just sniffs in response, bringing the blade slightly out of its sheath before dropping it back inside, causing a *ching!* to wring out. All at once the guns around her were cut completely in half, along with the chains restraining Mikasa which clang to the ground as they slip from her wrists and legs.
Muttered expressions of awe sound out as no one knew how she'd just done that, not even drawing her sword and disarming multiple soldiers while cutting through incredibly hard metal chains.
"T-thank you..." Mikasa mutters, rubbing the sore areas where the manacles had been slightly too tight.
"Thank me later, we should probably bring your 'family' otherwise they're likely to be punished in your place."
Mikasa nods and goes to call Eren and Armin over, but stops when a number of soldiers drop down from both the Military Police stand and from the Survey Corps. She breath halts particularly when she noticed 'Humanity's Strongest Soldier' Levi Ackerman present with blades at the ready.
The Judge still sitting at the end of the hall wipes some sweat from his forehead and clears his throat, "Whoever you are, you have trespassed into a trial and freed a prisoner of the state. Lay down your weapons or face the consequences."
Saeko chuckles, "What consequences? If I could bring down three titans that caused you so much trouble, what obstacle would your weak soldiers serve?" she looks towards Levi, sensing him to be the biggest threat of the lot, even if it was only in comparison. "Speaking of family, aren't you a little rat? Allowing your cousin to get butchered?" she clicks her tongue, "Humanity's strongest soldier must be a eunuch."
"Surrender. Don't make me kill you." Levi neutrally states, seemingly uncaring of her insult.
Saeko just draws Kusanagi in response, the gleaming blade setting all of the soldiers on edge...
"As you wish." Levi grunts as he sprints forwards at an almost inhuman pace, darting up to Saeko and slashing at her with both of his weapons simultaneously.
Sparks fly as their weapons collide, but she sends him flying backwards with a strong push to give herself time to respond to the other soldiers now charging her. Levi flips through the air and lands on his feet however, allowing him to get straight back into the fight.
