Looking at his map, Michael knew that this road led to a town called Cendri. He didn't know anything about it, but since they were willing to imprison or torture an innocent person, elf or not, he was seriously doubting that he'd resist burning the place to the ground.
The town itself was only three hours away from Westwood, yet Piers Morgan could barely trot anymore, let alone gallop. The sun was also beginning to set, but that was a good thing in Michael's eyes, as he worked far better under the cover of darkness.
"Alright Piers Morgan, I've worked you hard enough. Try not to cause as much trouble as your namesake," he says, hopping off the horse and slapping it on the ass, causing it quickly trot into the forest, leaving Michale alone on the dirt road.
Michael pulls his cloak from his inventory and throws it over his shoulder along with wrapping some fabric around his face to try to conceal his face. He puts his new sabre on his hip and begins running as fast as possible towards Cendri, occasionally having to dip into the forest to avoid travellers.
An hour later, Michael reaches the outskirts of a relatively large town, however, despite it almost being midnight, it sounded as if a festival were going on. The ache in Michael's heart only gets heavier as he realises this, and once he sneaks into the village and climbs atop a roof, his fears are confirmed.
In the centre of the town square was a large wooden pole, and tied to it was a heavily blackened corpse with a pile of ashes beneath it... All of the skin on the corpse had been burned, leaving a gaunt figure that lacked any identifiable characteristics... Except, Michael noticed that the corpse was female, and had previously had larger than average breasts, even despite the state of its body.
The corpse was tied to the pole, but its hands were clutched under its stomach as if the person were trying to pray while they burned... Michael eyes moistened as his legs gave out, the sheer weight of what he was witnessing forcing him onto his knees.
"Tiffania..." he mutters futilely. She was dead, burned to death for literally no reason aside from having longer than average ears. The kind, innocent girl he used to watch on his T.V had been burned to death...
What truly made Michael angry, however, was the fact that the town was celebrating around Tiffania's burnt body. People danced, people sold food and sang... Were there not a corpse next to them, he'd have felt the need to join in... Yet...
Michael lowers the fabric concealing his face and climbs off of the roof, slowly making his way through the crowd and approaching what was left of Tiffania. He stands below her body, trying his best to not break down...
*Clap!*
A man slaps him on the back and wraps his arm around Michael's shoulders, "Kid, what's with the dour face!? You gotta lighten up and celebrate! It's not every day a demon dies! Hahahaha!"
...
Michael pulls the guy off of him and continues to look upon Tiffania, memories of the anime going through his mind. This is my fault... If he hadn't taken Saito's place, none of this would have happened. Everything would have gone according to canon, with Tiffania eventually joining the magic academy and being accepted by Tristain...
None of that would happen now, and it was all because of him... Michael wipes the tears from his face and decides his course of action. "I've failed you, but I'll at least give you a fitting burial... You don't deserve to be left up here.
Ignoring the crowd around him, he climbs up the pole and cuts the burnt and shrivelled ropes somehow still holding Tiffania's body up, allowing her body to drop to the ground. Not minding his discomfort over touching her burnt body, he rolls her onto her back and prepares to pick her up and leave this place... Only to notice something he hadn't seen from below...
Tiffania hadn't been praying when she burned... She had been holding something... He ignores the angry yells of the townsman behind him and carefully unclasps her hands and reveals a ring with a large green gem affixed atop it.
"This..." he mutters, eyes widening as he remembers what this is... It's the ring that was used to resurrect Saito after his death!... C-could he use it to bring back Tiffania!?
*Thud!*
Michael's head tips forward as a rock hits him, he turns a hateful glare at the angry-looking townsfolk and warns, "If you all don't leave now, I will kill you all."
...
The man who'd previously clapped him on the back laughs, "Haa!? And how're you gonna do that? Elf love-AARGH!" he suddenly screams as orange threads of lightning punch through his chest, instantly killing him.
The townsfolk all scream in response to this, all chaotically running this way and that. Michael knew the town guards would be on him soon enough, but he wasn't willing to waste another second with Tiffania dead. He didn't know how effective the ring was, nor if it had to be used immediately after death.
He picks up the ring and holds it over Tiffania's blacked body, pushing as much magic as possible into it and hoping that it'd work. The gem begins to dimly glow, the light slowly increasing as he pumps more and more magic into it.
"Come on! Please don't fuck me on this! At least give me this one thing!" he whispers, feeling his mana reserves rapidly dropping as the glow incapsulates Tiffania's body.
"GO!"
Finally, Tiffania's body releases a bright flash, momentarily blinding Michael and everyone else who might've been observing him.

Tiffania sits in her cabin with a sombre look on her face. She'd just erased that strangers mind and sent him away, despite the fact he seemed to know her name. Her reaction wasn't intentional of course, but this wouldn't be the first time she'd been visited by people who'd intended to harm her.
There had been four instances where people had realised that she was a half-elf and attempted to capture her. She dealt with them easily enough by erasing their memories, but having to do this somewhat regularly left her with a deep fear of what might happen should she actually get captured.
She'd been there and was forced to watch as her mother was murdered, simply because she was an elf. She was a little girl when she watched through the slit of her wardrobe as the King's men relentlessly cut down her mother.
She'd managed to escape with the help of her father, Archduke Othomont's men(Younger brother of King George, Prince Wales father), she'd been sequestered away to this cabin in the woods. She wasn't able to go anywhere due to the risk of her discovery, so she was forced to stay here and wait for Matilda to deliver her food and supplies...
She disliked being trapped here, however, wishing that one day she could leave and freely explore the world without being hunted for her lineage. She knew this was unlikely to ever happen though, the only people she ever actually interacts with besides Matilda are the children from the orphanage that occasionally wander into the forest.
It's fun to play with them, but she knew once they became adults that she'd likely be captured... They would be taught to hate elves, and once they discovered her, they would turn against her like everyone else.
Tiffania shakes her head and begins to idly think about what that recent stranger called Michael had wanted. He didn't seem to be hostile, but her reaction would have undoubtedly made him angry if he ever discovered it.
*Creeeak!*
Tiffania's eyes shoot to the cabin door as she draws her wand, "W-who's there!?" she tentatively asks, scared of whatever mind be outside.
"Hello? I'm here to gift the fairy gifts for looking after the orphanage kids." a male voice asks, causing Tiffania to calm slightly. She takes her wide-brimmed hat and puts it on, making sure to tuck her ears into it. "L-leave it outside... And thank you!" she says, hoping they'd leave... Having someone visit her in the night brought back memories of the night her mother was killed. Needless to say, she was on edge.
"Okay! Thank you, fairy!" the man says as his footsteps audibly leave the outskirts of her cabin.
Tiffania breathes a sigh of relief and puts her wand back between her breasts, but is shocked when many men barrel through her door immediately afterwards. She's able to erase one person's mind but is easily disarmed and bound, her hat pulled away to reveal her long ears.
"Haha! Finally caught you, Elf!"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tiffania is bound and publically dragged through Westwood as the villagers cheered at her expense. These people who she hoped to one day befriend, laughing and jeering at her capture... The only people who looked upset were the children, but they could do nothing but watch as she was thrown into the back of a carriage and taken towards the city of Cendri.
Despite having come to terms with her situation, she couldn't help but feel resentful over the villager's reaction. They knew what was going to happen to her, yet they were happy, despite the fact she'd peaceful lived next to their village for many years!
"Captain? Maybe we should 'play' with the elf before we reach Cendri? Demons don't deserve any mercy." one guard asks, causing Tiffania's eyes to widen in fear.
The captain shakes his head, "Don't you dare. Touching this demon would taint you, I'd soon castrate you then let you corrupt yourself!"
The lustful guardsman pales and nods, "A-alright..." he says before looking at Tiffania, "I wonder if all demons look like this... This one must be a succubi elf or something." he mutters, using his sheathed sword to prod her in the breast.
It doesn't take long for them to reach the town, Tiffania's presence is announced, and people start throwing stones, fruit, and anything else they could get their hands on. Tiffania can only endure it however, she didn't know what'd happen to her, but she knew she probably wouldn't survive.
Why did these people hate her so much though? They'd never met her before, the only reason they had was because she was a half-elf... But was that really the reason? Elves weren't that different compared to humans! Her mother and father loved each other without problems, so why was it such a big deal!?
Tiffania can't help but begin sobbing as rock and fruit hit her, she takes her ring off and clutches it between her hands, knowing that these people would love the opportunity to steal the last thing her mother gave her.
Tears stream from her face as she's strung up to a pole and kindling is gathered beneath her, with people all the while continuing to throw things at her. She cries and begins begging them to let her go when she realises what they intended to do to her.
"Why are you doing this to me!? I did nothing wrong! I just want to be left alone!"
"Shut the fuck up you damned demon!"
"Yeah! Give us back the holy land you scum!"
...
Eventually, once everything is set up, a woman is carried into the town square by a luxurious-looking carriage. She doesn't step out, instead electing to address the townsfolk from the comfort of her vehicle.
Tiffania intently listens to the woman, Earl Tatiana Baschet's speech, and she can only futilely plead her innocence as she lists off a litany of false claims and crimes that Tiffania had 'supposedly' committed.
