Chapter 2: HOW DID I BECOME LIKE THIS?
When Rehan regain his consciousness he heard some people talking by his side.
"When will he wake up?"
'Did I not die in that fire' Rehan thought.
" It has been 5 days already but he hasn't opened his eye yet"
'Was I that lucky ' Rehan was surprised.
" All the doctors have already said he was normal and nothing is wrong with him so honey be patient"
Rehan pretend to sleep so he could dispense the situation properly.
'Who are these people and why were they so concerned about me' Rehan was confused but the next sentence from those people struck him like a lightning.
" Did our baby not want to see his mom and dad? Baby, please open your eyes your mom is waiting for you to see this wonderful world," Rehan heard a woman's voice full of concern and worry ask him.
'When did my parents get alive or am I in heaven to be able to meet them,' Rehan thought.
He was confused, he didn't know whether he should be sad that he died in the fire or happy that he was finally able to meet his parents after so many years.
It has been many years since his parents died.
Rehan wanted to open his eyes and greet them but he was still unable to do so.
He was worried about being unable to open his eyes when he suddenly heard a man speak.
" Honey, let's go and eat lunch ok? you haven't been taking care of yourself nowadays,"
Now that Rehan listens to their conversation he has some fuzzy feeling that he has been hearing them talk for many days.
" But....what if he woke up and didn't see us, wouldn't he be sad and cry?" Rehan heard his supposed mother say with sadness and worries laced in her melodious voice.
" If he wakes up, we would be able to see from the monitoring device but if he wakes up and sees his mom this sad and weak because she was worried for him then our son will be unhappy, so let's go eat something ok," as man coaxes his wife and left the room.
Rehan is not completely sure whether they were his parents or not but from listening to their conversation he could detect genuine care and love they had for him.
Rehan was so focused on thinking, that he didn't even realise that he had already opened his eyes.
When he came to his sense he found that he was in a large spacious room.
Rehan was shocked.
It wasn't because he was in a large room but it seems that he was in a cage.
'Weren't those people my parents? Why would try to cage me in this place,' Rehan thought but then he finds that the top of the cage was wide open.
' Whoever made this cage that man should be psycho or mental,' Rehan shakes his head in pity.
He didn't know whether he should pity that mental person or thank him for allowing him to escape this place.
Rehan try to stand up and get out of the cage but he simply couldn't move his body.
Rehan was terrified.
He was feeling hopeless and helpless which he hadn't felt since his parent's death.
He was frustrated, he wants to break this cage and leave so he tried to hit the cage with his hand only to get the biggest shock he ever got in his life.
He found his long and strong hand had become small not just small but like a baby's hand.
" How the heaven did my hand become so small," Rehan cried in fright but what he heard was " aaw guu aa ae gaa gee".
When he find himself making that baby sounds he was once again stunned.
HE HAD BECOME A BABY!
So the thing he was seeing as a cage was just a CRIB!
He finds that this day was a 'stunning' day for him cause he was either surprised or stunned due to various reasons.
An obscure thought came to mind, ' did I get reborn or transmigrated?' Rehan was sure at this moment that he died in the fire so must have either been reborn or transmigrated.
Don't say that he was mad or mental thinking about how did he know about being reborn or transmigrated cause he had read many books where ML gets reborn or transmigrated in a book.
But thinking if was transmigrated he should have been at least an adult or at least be 4 or 5 years however seeing his hands and feet he should be a baby so he must be reborn.
Just when he was contemplating whether he was reborn or transmigrated he heard the twist of the knob on the door.
He sees two giants coming toward him or should he say maybe his parents.
He notices a beautiful and elegant woman and the handsome man rushing toward him.
He could see the woman's eyes glistening with tears and the man also has some undetectable moisture in his eyes.
" My baby you finally open your eyes" the woman happily cried and pick him up from the crib.
" You naughty boy you don't know how worried your mom and dad were for you," the woman who is his mom chided Rehan.
" Haha, look dear didn't I tell you once our prince comes home he will open his eyes himself," the handsome man who is Rehan's dad said happily.
Rehan was convinced that he was reborn not in his past but as a completely new person.
He has become this couple's son.
He was sad he couldn't meet his old parents but he was happy to get a new one with him being a new person.
He doesn't know why he has memories of his past self or why did he get reborn but he knew he should stop thinking about that and become happy to find this happy opportunity.
He was hoping to start his family when he gets graduated from university but since he got the chance to start new then he would.
Rehan was thinking he was ready to start a new chapter in his life when he heard his father announcing.
" From now on you are LUCAS EVANS, my son," He heard his father give his name happily.
From the next chapter onwards we will call Rehan- Lucas Evans.
