Chapter 45: Killing Oneself

The creature was a weird mesh between a humanoid entity and something resembling a centipede, possessing hundreds of arms on a serpentine tail that spanned almost ten metres.

Its physique spanned three metres in height, possessing five pairs of wings on its back that looked like lathered steel.

Its head resembled a human at first glance, but lacked a lower jaw, and was replaced by a dangling tongue with countless feelers squirming within.

As for arms, it had none, relying on its sharp tail to attack the Floating Spiders that swerved around it, at times attacking the eggs to begin cracking them.

Jyorta was aware of how tough an eggshell was. It was capable of surviving the brunt of his Aura Beam while only suffering a dent.

So, even though it seemed like the Floating Spiders were having an advantage at the start, they weren't doing any serious damage. And among them, only the Tier 2 Floating Spiders posed a real threat.

The Tier 1 Floating Spiders only scuttled about, dodging the creature's attacks while succeeding in annoying it.

But a couple dozen seconds later, the Tier 2 Floating Spiders suddenly began screeching, producing a sonorous sound when the movements of all the Floating Spiders changed their rhyme.

All the Tier 1 Floating Spiders flew through the air, swerving around the creature as they casually dodged its slow but powerful attacks. Faint white strings flew in the air, slowly wrapping around it in faint layers.

Though, they weren't strong enough to trap it, snapping at the mildest movements from the creature.

In the meantime, the Tier 2 Floating Spiders arrived behind an egg and began to weave a layer of silk around it. Their figures were tiny, and hence, once they began to hide, the creature wasn't able to find them.

Suddenly, a minute later, the creature was alarmed when one of the eggs started to fly up into the air. And right as it reacted, the egg sped away rapidly, shocking it.

In a fluster, the creature screeched in anger before taking off to the skies, chasing after the egg after observing some Floating Spiders perched onto it.

The Floating Spiders had spun enough of their webs around the egg to completely negate its weight. And, once it began to gently float into the air, they casually carried it with them, since it was no longer heavy.

Thanks to this, they could carry the egg and fly at their top speed, alarming the creature into giving chase.

But, the moment the creature chased for a couple hundred metres, it was alarmed, turning around to notice that its nest was being attacked by all the remaining Floating Spiders. Moreover, now that a couple of eggs started to hatch, they began to concentrate the attacks there.

Screee!

Followed by a baleful screech, the creature returned to its nest, no longer able to give chase to the egg that was being carried away. It decided to save the majority of its offspring first.

There were around ten Tier 2 Floating Spiders latched onto the egg, carrying it over a distance of ten kilometres before they stopped.

Immediately after, a thin circle formed at the top of the egg, gently lifting out the shell piece as Jyorta's head peeked out, looking around to no longer see any traces of the bird, sighing in relief. He had corroded the shell to lift the circular piece.

Of course, all the ten Floating Spiders were under his control. When he was releasing them, he placed them under his hallucination.

Now, he got himself a flying equipment that boasted defence superior to his attack means. So, he was pretty content with the arrangement. Moreover, having ten Tier 2 Floating Spiders to steer gave him enough confidence that he would be able to find his other presence that was in this aura personification.

Moreover, Jyorta could hide within the egg and remain unaffected by the high temperatures of the place. This way, he could conserve a lot of his psychic energy. He also had understood the concept at place after exiting the aura personification once.

It was that he only possessed as much power as what he had when he entered the aura personification. Beyond that, he wasn't using any psychic energy in his body, but the same reserves that had been replicated in his presence in the aura personification.

So, even if he expends all his psychic energy here, in reality, his reserves wouldn't have diminished. This also proved that he wouldn't be able to receive any external help. Otherwise, Madam Mary could casually help him by replenishing his energy reserves.

Using that, he could rely on Regen to recover his aura reserves and spam Aura Beams everywhere.

As for the first time, since he hadn't actually been pulled into the aura personification by then, his Aura Beams expended the presence in his body, and Regen depleted his psychic energy reserves to heal his aura.

Now that he had solved his issue for mobility, his body, in reality, performed the same action as before, condensing a tattoo before putting some presences into it. The aura personification sucked it in, but Jyorta didn't notice them appearing beside him.

Rather, they had arrived at the nest, troubling the creature further.

After hiding in a discrete spot, he observed the situation in the nest, condensing the third tattoo in reality. This time, he put ten presences in it, also imbuing a hallucination in them in advance. He morphed the aura signature of the hallucination to resemble the respective presences.

So, when they were sucked into the aura personification, it was treated as if his hallucination was also part of their presence. So, thanks to this, he gained a use similar to the tattoo but by only using the basic hallucination once. Now, they were under his control without any effort.

The latest ten presences consisted of nine Tier 2 Spindle Bees and one Tier 2 River Whale. Upon arrival, they began to fly away.

Upon seeing that they weren't attacking it, the creature didn't bother with them, already tressed enough as is to defend its nest against the pesky attackers.

The nine Spindle Bees and one River Whale flew towards Jyorta when he smiled, "Alright, I now have enough power to kill myself."
