Chapter 143: CXLIII: offer to help

She was too busy with her work to notice that it was time for dinner.

It was her maid Vivian that told her that her dinner was ready and when she got downstairs, she was shocked to see that the king had invited himself over to her house and her table without anyone informing her. 

"I thought it was right to eat dinner with you and spend the night here," he told her calmly as he watched her sit down.

She did not permit him to come uninvited because she simply asked him to stay over.

She bit inside her lower lips but she did not say anything to him. She helped herself with food and began eating while ignoring his existence.

She was unhappy that he did not seem to notice that he was invading her privacy.

"You do not look happy," he told her half way into the meal. "Is there a problem?"

She smiled and shook head despite how hard she wanted to tell him that he was the problem and he should leave.
