Chapter 39: XXXIX: The Oracle's advise

She might be a messenger of the goddess but she was still only a member of his pack and she knew very well that she had no right to speak when the King was beefing with his Alpha wolf.

"I will excuse myself," the Oracle said as she turned to leave but he caught her hand.

"What made me unable to heal from the wound?" He asked seriously.

He was the fastest healing being in the kingdom but it took him days to heal from the wound that girl gave him.

"She used silver," the Oracle replied immediately.

"I am not susceptible to silver, you know that, right? Or am I losing my powers?" he asked her seriously.

"No, you are not, your majesty. You should actually reconcile with your wolf.

"The knife is not all that matters but who welds it matters too. She is definitely not ordinary and she is your mate.

"She had soaked that knife in her blood and wolf's bane for a while. A lot of rituals had been performed on the knife too.

"If you ever meet her again, dispose that knife or she will kill you very easily with it than with any other thing."

"What do you mean by that?"

"She was sent to be your only weakness, your majesty. If she wants to kill you, she has more than a million ways to do it.

"I guess you should bring her here and make her aware that whatever vengeance she seeks, you are not the person she should go after."

"You guess?" he looked at her suspiciously as he released her wrist from his grip.

"Yes, I guess. I am not passing a message from the goddess to you but giving you my humble advise as your subject," the maiden replied seriously.

"Really? It has been a while since I heard you give a personal advice to someone especially to me," he told her with a sly smile.

"I thought you needed it. This is the first time that I have seen you get so hurt both physically and mentally.

"You should not deny her for too long. If she gets married to someone else two things could happen.

"If she loves the man, he will get the blessings she was born with and he will be the luckiest man in earth. He might win a war against you.

"If she doesn't love him and she is not happy with the physical union, she will lose her powers in either a destructive manner which will cause the death of a lot of people

"Or she could lose her powers in a slow manner that she won't recognize what is happening to her but she will begin to die slowly.

"The Alpha has recognized her as your mate even if you haven't.

"When she dies, he will feel it and he might never be able recover from the guilt of not protecting your mate.

"The Alpha in you when hurt, will make you hurt. If he never recovers from the grief and guilt, you know what will happen."

"Is that you speaking or you are passing a message from the goddess?"

"Why ask? What is important is that you have to bring her back for the good of everyone."

"Could you come in for a second?"

"Sure," she agreed as she followed him into the large neat room without hesitation.

He sat down on a chair on the balcony and gestured to an empty seat beside him.

"What do you want to discuss?"

"I had a dream recently. She is not bringing life like the prophecy said she will bring. I saw death," he narrated his effort to hide his nervousness not totally fruitful.

"If that is what you are scared of, I guess that one of the main reasons why she should be brought over immediately.

"If she needs help, we alone can give her help. We must not let things continue the way it is.

"Do you think she could try to kill you without feeling it herself?

"The bond between mates is not something to be joked about. It is serious.

"There are many more reasons why she carries death not life. Bring her over and I will try to help. I am a healer. I should be able to help her."

"So, at the end of it all, she needs to be made Queen of my kingdom?" The king was definitely not finding this funny at all.

"Excuse me," she said as she stood up.

"Why won't you give me answer?" He asked her seriously as he stared ahead at the beautiful scenery.

"Do you want me to tell you what you want to hear or what should be done?"

"Any of them."

"You are not entitled to just one wife," she replied him before walking into his room. "However, you are entitled to just one mate for all your life."

He shook his head when she closed the door of his room behind her.

He told her to tell him any but she ended up telling him everything.

It will take a while for him to make his decision.

He refused to believe the latter words of the Oracle since she was not speaking the words of the goddess.

How could that girl hurt him when he met her only once and he did not even mark her.

He has lived for centuries and have had a lot of women in his life that he could not believe only a woman could have such great impact on his life.

All of them lived short dying without ever getting marked by him to become his official mate and Queen.

A century ago, he even had a son with one of those many women but the boy had long died.

He could not believe a woman will be his end.

Aurora met her uncle's gaze. He shifted on the throne but did not look away.

"What do you mean by saying I ran away from my fiancé with another man?" she asked the Queen who had just accused her of that crime.

This was very different from the banquet she imagined they will welcome her to.
