The king snapped his fingers. A man was dragged in by five guards each of them holding the end of a silver chain with which his head, his legs and hands were chained.
The silver chain made her recognize the sinful being. She moved away to the side of the hall and watched as the man was made to kneel down on the not so smooth marble floor with a thud.
This was the first time she came in contact with any of these creatures but she knew a lot about them and she could not find any of those characteristics in the man kneeling with his head bowed that his chin was resting on his upper chest.
He looked so thin and malnourished unlike the muscular frame she was taught that these beasts always have.
"I know Princess wonders why he looks this way but as you have been taught, they can be humbled by using enough amount of wolfs bane. He is close to death's door and he is in his weakest state. It is a pity the soldiers gave him too much that he is too weak to transform to his wolf form or that would have been very helpful," the king took his time to explain everything to Aurora with an amused expression he looked like he was having so much fun.
That was one of the few reasons why she did not like her uncle. He was nothing like the king her grandfather was. Her grandfather will definitely not let any of these creatures into his kingdom not to talk of letting them into his throne room.
None of what she saw right now pleased her. She wore a bored uninterested look to express what she really felt. What was the use of bringing in this useless specimen? The illustrations in the books she studies are better.
The werewolf who had not made a single movement since he was made to kneel down sudden began sniffing. He raised his head and turned his head to Aurora's direction.
He opened his eyes to show a pair of brown eyes that looked just like the wolf her father hunted when she was little.
He said he wanted to use the wolf to understand a little about the werewolves to make it easier to fight them if the kingdom ever gets invaded by werewolves.
It was a pity that when they invaded the palace, her father was one of those who got killed.
He fixed his gaze on Aurora and after a few seconds, his eyes opened wider in an obvious surprise. It was also a pleasant surprise.
He suddenly stood up making the guards who held his chains alert as they tried to make his kneel again but he did not budge. He suddenly smiled at Aurora and showed the sharp fangs that reflected the light of the morning.
The king watched the movements of the werewolf carefully before raising his hand indicating that the guards should let the werewolf be.
The guards obeyed but they stayed alert. The werewolf suddenly faced Aurora fully before falling on his knees on his own accord and bowed his head to the floor to Aurora.
Everyone in the room was surprised except the king and his closest subordinate who both knew very well the reason for such reaction from the werewolf.
The werewolf raised his head but remained on his knees as he looked at Aurora with great admiration and respect.
Looking at him, Aurora did not miss the presence of fear in his inhumane brown eyes as her gaze met his but he did not seize to keep staring.
It was as though he was going to get something by looking at her and he was willing lock up his fear to get that thing.
No one has ever looked at her in such a manner. She has had people look at her in fear because of her status in the kingdom.
She has also had people look at her in admiration because of her beauty, elegance and fearlessness but never has she been looked at like that.
"I never knew you existed. We heard about it from our parents and grandparents but we never knew that one day you will come to us. We always thought you were only a myth. I am sure no one will believe what I am seeing until they see it for themselves. You are just as beautiful as the prophecy say you will be. I am sure you are just as powerful as the prophecy says you will be," the werewolf man suddenly began talking with so much sincerity.
"What prophecy?" she asked directing her gaze and question at her uncle on the throne.
"The prophecy you are aware of Princess," her uncle replied her easily.
She did not believe her uncle as much as she believed what the werewolf just said.
She did not believe what the werewolf said had anything to do with the fact that she was the only weakness the great alpha king had and she was the only who could cause his death.
The werewolf should not be happy about such a prophecy and look at her in such a manner, right?
"I doubt that you are aware of the prophecy, my lady," the werewolf suddenly gave her an answer opposing what her uncle just said and she believed the werewolf immediately without a second thought.
"What do you mean by that?" Rose asked seriously. She wanted to know what the prophecy was because from what she observed, her uncle was aware of what the prophecy was but he wanted her to remain ignorant.
"You shine so bright like the moon in the darkness night," the werewolf began with his hands raised as he lifted his head and stared at the ceiling but returned his gaze to Aurora although his head remained tilted up facing the ceiling of the throne room.
"Don't ever believe the words of these creatures. Remember they killed your parents and grandparents. Remember what they did to our family," her uncle, the king suddenly called from his throne as he slowly stood up to hide his nervousness.
He walked down the steps from his throne and stopped few feet away from where the werewolf knelt.
