Chapter 5: Gobby Training
-Goblin Darn's POV-
"Hey Darn, is it true that we're going to be become richer thanks to those boars you brought?"-A random goblin
"I don't know, I didn't expect for the blaze boars to be so powerful. It also doesn't change the fact that we owe the same boars our lives since they saved ours."- Darn
"Fair enough, also between you and me, I heard from some of those 'hobgoblins' that we might be getting some human females!" the random goblin stated with confidence while growing more and more quiet but exited as he got more quiet.
"Really? Huh, I am indeed happy to know such news, but is it all good though? From my knowledge I remember several tribes and hordes of goblins being wiped out for the sole reason that they captured females from other races."-Darn said with worry
"True, but we have not a horde but a clan protecting us so we should be safer. Nevertheless I have to agree with you Darn, too many rewards is starting to sound less and less good for us, well, we can't change what's been decided anyway."-the goblin retorts in a less than chipper mood now
As the 2 goblins were talking a small precession of nearly 20 goblins showed up and announces themselves as "Chief's entourage" followed by the goblin in question
"Oh, good timing, come on Rab, we must see what the leader wants from us. this might also be the best chance to see if those rumors are true and what is to happen in the future." Darn says with a commanding tone to the goblin he was talking to Rab.
"O-ok, wait! Wait for me!"-Rab
As the 2 goblins go to the large entourage and greet Chief, Darn notices the humans bound with iron chains, are visibly malnourished and are looking at the goblins with great disdain.
"Lord Chief, are these the humans I've been hearing so much about for these last couple days?"-a hobgoblin with a scar over his right eye and wielding a war sword said
"Why yes Kain, they are indeed humans, as well as several trainers, hobgoblins and serf goblins. It seems that Father is keen on giving prosperity to this village. Oh Darn! Perfect timing, I need to discuss some things with you, this'll make things much easier"-Chief
"U-understood my lord. I myself have many questions about the future so this is indeed a perfect moment to talk about such things"-Darn
After waving goodbye to Rab, Darn entered the large hut used by Chief and both sat down on the chairs that were present in the room, both well made despite the crude design.
"Alright, first of all I'll tell you this, you will be required to participate in training as the village leader and the one that the blaze boars trust. You will also be required to meet with the clan leader, my father and swear loyalty to him and the clan. Finally, as you will be in charge of the village, the goblin serfs and trainers will stay behind to assist and protect you and the village."-Chief said with a very serious and straight face
As he said all of this Darn had gone more and more pale as responsibility and work had just been piled on his small goblin body. He had begun fidgeting in his seat when Chief was finished talking trying to comprehend what had just been said to him.
Calming himself down Darn replied with a slightly shaky voice "T-that's quite the responsibilities I have been given, and if my guess is right, I'm promoted to 'lord' correct? "Sigh", You're nodding is making my head hurt just so you know, regardless, I now must begin breeding the blaze boars, training skilled individuals to become 'riders', and learn how to lead soldiers while making my village prosperous correct?"
"You are correct for the most part, those "riders" will actually be referred to as "knights" as their power will be worthy of such, also, you won't be in charge of the breeding but will have to ensure that does happen, finally the trainers will do their job, be aware you will be participating in said training as the lord has to be able to do such things."-Chief
"Oh great, this is quite the deal of things I must juggle, I must honestly curse to Higan for putting me in such a wonderful yet stressful place"-Darn as he holds his head and his swaying it dejected
"Regardless we must prepare for humans will most likely be coming within a couple days to weeks and they will most likely not be happy that we captured some of their kind."-Chief
"Sigh, alright be aware that it may be after the humans attack that we'd be ready for combat, but from that shit eating grin I can tell that we'll be forced to be prepared and ready prior to that, huh, are those trainers really that good?"-Darn
"I assure you that no matter what happens in the near future, you will be prepared for these trainers are the best of the best coming straight from my father"-Chief said in a very exaggerated pose as to put more energy near the end of the sentence.
Giving up Darn just blankly stared at Chief who still stood there with a massive grin on his face like everything was gonna be fine, which it might but Darn had doubts but it wouldn't matter so he gave up and just went along with the giant hobgoblins ranting and soon, training.
A couple of hours after the meeting, Darn and his warriors stood at attention where the instructors were eyeballing them before the one in charge screamed "YOU BASTARDS AREN'T WORTH THE SHIT THAT COMES OUT OF YOU.....AS SUCH WE NEED WHIP YOU INTO SHAPE AND MAKE YOU NOT SUCH MASSIVE PUSSIES BY ORDER OF LORD MIXA!" as the large hobgoblin named Frag screamed at all of the warriors, they all collectively thought "Is death better than what we might be going to go through?"{who knows ,only ones who will know are me and them ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)}
