"William! Did you hear it?"

She stumped her feet and the wood was moving.

"Yes, Love! Let me see what is hiding there."

He looked around and saw the letter opener. Snatching it from the table, he dove it inside the seam and pushed it into the wood.

Elizabeth excitedly sat beside him and William picked out something that was wrapped over a red shawl!

"Little thing, I think we found what you were looking for."

He handed her the strange thing that was wrapped by the silk shawl.

For a moment, Elizabeth wasn't sure if she had the stamina to unwrap it, if there were words, could she read them? Was she ready to hear about her father's secret?

"Do you want me to help you?"

She nodded and squeezed his hand, "I can't, my heart is not ready!"

"Then let's leave it for later. Can we talk now?"

Elizabeth stood up by his assistance and he sat on a chair, making her sit on his lap.
